2018+ LED HEADLIGHTS PLUG N PLAY HARNESS FOR 2014-2021 MODELS [V 2.0]

It's not. Just read page #1 on this thread and you'll see the steps. All of the harnesses must do the first 4 steps.. then skip down to the Dimming DRL Steps. The main difference is that the Always Bright hookup is direct to the fuse box by the battery under the hood while the Dimming DRL option requires you to run a wire through a nipple grommet in the firewall. This grommet is under the steering wheel and then you attach to the cable(s) by the relays under the kick plate where your left foot sits when you drive. It's not hard by any means, but if you want the dimming function you have to do that.

Glad I came across this. 2015 TRD MGM. Love it but hate driving at night with a baby in the car and crappy STL street lighting. Looking at the 2018 LED headlights unless someone steers me another way

 

Agree... I'm in the same boat. '17 TRD Pro... looking to upgrade my headlights but am fishing around to see if anyone is getting rid of their 2018+ LED DRL's... If not I'll have to bite the bullet and buy brand new. I've watch videos and looked at pics. The lighting is amazing.

 

I have a 2016 SR5 and would like to install the 2019 TRD Pro headlights. But I also have the NSV light bar. Has anyone done this install with the NSV light bar. And was it difficult?

Thanks Ihacker for the harness, delivered as promised. I will update once I have headlights installed. I also wanted to share to forum members that you can order headlights (bam whole sale parts) their prices are great and shipping is cheap. Looking to finally pull the trigger on the ‘19 Pro headlights. But I have a few questions about the which harness to satisfy the wife. She’s worried about voiding the warranty.

-with the Dimming harness, will that void the warranty bc of doing all the defining and extra wiring?

-with the Plug n Play, has anyone got any feedback from other drivers as to if the always bright lights are too bright?

 

I like my non dimming.

 

I’m leaning toward that for the simple fact of keeping the wife off my back about the warranty. Also because of how easy it is. But I do want to eliminate the Amber DRL

 

You can delete the amber. Just pull the wire out of the connector under the dash on the driver side...I think you can search for amber drl delete. I followed those instructions and it was very simple.

The 'always bright' is only for the DRL lights...not the headlights.

The Dimming harness and the always Bright harness only differ in how they are wired. No cutting is required for either. The 'always bright DRL' plug into the fuse box in the engine bay.

The dimming hardness taps a 12v wire under the dash instead. If you want, you can connect it to the grey 'amber delete' wire to make them dimming. Once again, no cutting is required.

 

Here, I uploaded an image for those that want to do the 'dimmer' mod and are unsure about going under the dash. It shows you the layout of the pins, the wires and how they are connected after you get everything done. It's not that bad and no cutting is required. My truck is a 2017 Limited, for those wondering the year.

Finnally got lights installed. Works good, looks great. Thank you ihacker for ur harness and install i structions. One other question, i sorta messed/crippled the female terminal after depinning it on gray wire. Would you by chance have that terminal part number incase some day i want to put it back into its original connector?

Anyone have any tricks on depinning the grey wire. Cannot get the grey wire out. Do not want to cut it. I’ve used a small pin, needle, and anything and everything that resembles a thumbtack. Still no luck. Thanks

 

Go take a look back at the video again. Before you de pin you will unlock the plastic trim that holds the whole wiring.

 

If your talking about the trim he pries open with his mini-screwdriver, I did unlock it. I could have been bumping it down on one side while trying to pull the grey wire out.
I think my main problem is not having the correct depinning tool. And also having a difficult time getting my fat fingers in there to pull the grey wire.
I did purchase a depinning tool from Amazon. Hopefully that will be my saving grace.

How much are TRD Pro headlights running for? Looking to switch also ...seems pretty easy from what I’ve read. We just need to purchase the iharness correct?

 

ICEY! Happy with the outcome. Big thanks to @iHacker for the harness and all his knowledge. I was skeptical I could complete the mod. He answered all my questions and then some.
I would say to anyone who is debating on if you should do the mod, do your research. I took my time, double checked everything and checked it again before I buttoned it all up. It is pretty easy to do. The hardest part was the de-pinning. The grey wire just didn’t want to come out. Finally after a half hour, and some tugging, it came out and from that point on, it was a breeze.
I went with the dimmable harness and the ‘19 Pro lights. I have a ‘17 Pro so I wanted to keep it Pro. So without further ado...
