    Hey guys,

I’m new here to this forum. I’m going to be picking up a 2016 Crew Max in the next week or so, and thinking about getting a pair of Fox 2.5 coilovers. My question is what settings on the actual coilovers are you setting them at to achieve a 3” lift?

Thanks in advance for your guys knowledge. It’s very much appreciated.

I have the fox 2.5s and love them. I have the passenger set with no threads (maybe barely one) showing and this is 3 inch lift. My drivers side shows about five threads to account for the drivers side gas tank lean. @xtyfighterx also has these and I believe he is set at the same thread count.

I have a coachbuilder shim on each side and just a couple threads showing. Out of the box I was over 4” so you’re just gonna have to measure hub to fender till it’s 3”....sitting on 25” on each side

You will have to drop them down a good bit to get to 3”. Do not use a shim. Feel free to pm me as I have run all of the OE Fox shocks on a Tundra.

"drop them down a good bit to get 3"...can you show a picture of how many threads you have showing? Do you have the 0-2" 2.5s or the 0-3" 2.5s? I know guys who push 3 inches out of the 0-2"

Give me a bit. I’ve had both, no difference for me, same struggle. The 0-2” was able to get down to 2 3/8” lift, but once the coil settled it was loose at full droop, no bueno. The 0-2” ride like complete shit imo..

This is how mine are today, the passenger side coil is barely loose at full droop, so imo. both sides need at least 2 turns if keeping this setup(I’m not). This yields 3” lift on a heavy ass truck. FYI, I beat the snot(jump) out of this truck, no issues at all with Fox.

Your thread count looks almost identical to what I said so I'm still confused what you mean by "drop them down a good bit to get 3"". To me that means you have to crank down the preload collar way more than what you are showing in your pictures. What am I missing?

If you go a bit lower than what yours and mine are, the coil is free at full droop. That means it clanks around and rotates. So in my experience, can’t really get lower than 3” with 0-3”, and 2.5” with 0-2”. Not everyone hits full droop maybe?

Oh, lower as in lift, got it. I thought you meant collar lower. I'm barely showing a thread on passenger but coil is not free. Good to know you beat the snot out of em and no issues :benchpress: I love mine.

By any chance would any of you guys know the part number for the fox 2.5 coilovers that achieve the 3” lift?

Do they really require an upper control arm. I’ve seen a lot of people using them without an UCA.

I got SPC UCAs when i got my 2.5 0-3" resi's. @xtyfighterx i believe did not get UCAs for the same coilovers.

I’m on stock UCAs. It would be best to get aftermarket to get the full travel from the shocks but not necessary if your just pavement pounding or mild off roading

Yep, half is in my garage along with the SCS Ray 10’s. The shocks/uca’s are waiting at the install shop for my appointment. I was going to get a TRD Pro, but decided to go the Sport route and spend the difference upgrading it the way I wanted.

I just installed the 2-3" 2.5s and they came out of the box preset with 1/2" of threads showing. From reading Accutune's article: https://accutuneoffroad.com/preload-adjustments-on-oem-fit-coilovers/, you don't go by thread count, but by the measurement of an uncompressed spring to the compressed spring; the difference is your preload. They mention 1/2" of preload is around 1" in lift height. I just left them where they were and going to let them settle before adjusting.
