None yet but plenty to come.
Guessing fit is less than stellar and paint is HORRIBLE, but I'm curious to see what others say

From what I've seen, even the factory ones do not paint match perfectly.

I bought one but just for the grill insert. It came with black surround but I have MGM Tundra so not sure how much the paint matches actual toyotT black .

    Grill insert fit just fine.

I was considering stripping and having my chrome ones color matched to the truck by my painter.

Then this would be a great option for you. Not sure how much painting the bulge and surround will cost you though. Hope not too much .

I guess it depends on how much trial and error to color match but i'd guess in the $200 range.

    True that. :)

BTW I am not endorsing this product. Lol Just wanted to let everyone know that the grill insert worked for me and served it's purpose. I would upload a pic but am on a business trip and in the boonies so internet upload speed is at best 1 mbps. Lol

I picked one up for shits and giggles. Separated the insert. I was going to vinyl wrap the surround white to match my truck but i didn’t have a large enough piece of vinyl... the black surround is definitely flimsy and you can see where the platic was molded together On the bottom trim.

I’m going to use the insert and wrap my chrome surround instead.

Edit: adding a photo after I separated the insert

    Thanks in advance!

I have a 2014 Double Cab SR in silver, wanting to swap my grill for the TRD one that says TOYOTA. Do I need a hood bulge too? Can I just swap out the grill inside the surround? Sorry if these are stupid questions, I've been reading a bunch of threads on here but getting confused after reading 2019 threads (TSS drama) and seeing others say that you need a hood bulge too. Here is a pick of what I have:

Both my old Pro grille/surround and bulge were from ebay shipped from China, matched well but they can't really mess up black:

Here's a better pic to show match, same surround and bulge, I only switched out the inside grille (which is genuine OEM):

You can separate them. No hood bulge necessary.

It depends on what you want to do. It you just want to swap out the grille insert, that would not be a problem. The grille surround and grille insert can be separated. In most cases (except 3rd party/knockoffs), you will have to purchase the grille surround and grill insert together. Then take them apart and swap them out. If you wanted to color match, you would want to get a bulge as well. If you do decide to color match, I would suggest getting OEM because I've dealt with eBay knockoffs on my old Tacoma and the paint never lasted.

    tundra_grille_anatomy.jpg

I would suggest going color matched for the Silver Sky! @Roman or @SparksParts would be the vendors to contact for OEM parts.

what year is your truck? the new honeycomb trd pro grill insert is growing on me. it looks badass!!! did you just buy the honeycomb insert from toyota? did all the mounting points line up as with the old school trd pro grill insert? sorry for all the questions. thanks in advance.

i am considering doing the same but suspect the new honeycomb grill insert is very expensive. wish they had a knock off available. LOL

The color match is pretty sweet, maybe one day. I just don't have a lot of $$ to work with right now, payed off my student loans a few months ago and then took out home equity for a house project in anticipation of a new baby next month...

I supposed I could by the surround and bulge later to color match?

joshuA, want to sell your old Pro grille?

Anyone can do it from year 2014 onward. But you need to buy the whole grille and surround, the inside isn’t sold separately. The honeycomb part is held with clips. There’s a thread here somewhere outlining how. You also need a TSS cover, either the OEM one (expensive), 3rd party off a former member here who makes them (what I use), or make your own.

I can’t get the 2019 Pro grille in Canada, I had to send it to my NY mailbox, and the cheapest for me was off https://toyotaparts.bochtoyotasouth.com/ Might be less for others from CoolSprings or Sparks, compare prices with shipping and forum discount.

Are these cheaper grills being shipped without the T O Y O T A letters? Thats how the ebay ads appear.

Some do, some don’t. I would stick with the ads that say it’s included and/or it’s in the pics.

I'm noticing that my hood bulge and grill surround are a dark gray color, the bumper is black, and the paint is silver... why didn't toyota make the surround and bulge black like the bumper?

I would guess that the bumper and body pieces are 2 different types of plastic. One is paintable and the other is not. One is a harder plastic. Since they are mass producing these pieces, I doubt they would run a custom process to thermoform grille pieces in bumper material (especially for the SR trim). I would also guess that either the grille/bulge plastic is already the dark gray color or they prep all grilles/bulges in that color before they get sent off to be painted body colors/chromed.

How hard are these things to swap out for someone not use to doing stuff like this. Also, is it easy to remove the radar sensor and install on the new grill? TIA
