Very useful for running in the store real quick, or even warning it up/cooking it off, also a lot easier on your starter

I work pizza delivery and I like to be able to lock the truck without having to shut it off. I haven’t done a starter yet but from what I’ve heard they aren’t fun. I’m usually out of the truck less than a minute, two at absolute max. However there are some part of town that 30 seconds is too much. I’ve always carried two keys on me because it’s a lot cheaper than a lock Smith. So since I started leaving my truck running I would always roll the window down, shut the door, reach through the windows lock it and use the auto up feature on the window. I did some research and found where the power lock wire was (I’ll add that photo) and through the Toyota manual I knew all I had to do was ground that wire with a momentary push button switch. I wanted to keep all the wiring in the driver door so I started with the master door switch and got no results. I removed the driver kick panel to find the wires then use to ohm meter to find the right wiring in the door. I’m not sure if it’s unique to my truck but in the driver kick panel I actually do not have the wires seen in the photo. I can get into it if someone else runs Into this problem but to keep this somewhat short I’m going to leave it out of this. Long story short I found the right wire on the passenger side, ran a wire across the dash and installed the button on the under side of the tow mirror seen in the pic below. The first hole was just a hair too close to center

    Alot of them
So this button is to lock and unlock it while it is running? All someone has to do is watch you do it and they are in or it's gone. The remote will not lock it while it is running but a 2nd key will.

No this is lock only, 2nd key to unlock with the key hole, haven’t figured out a bypass to let the remote work but I am working on that

I would have just bought the remote for it
Seems like you know what you are doing with electric and they make some pretty cheap ones out there.

I have a fob (hell it’s got remote start) but the fob doesn’t work while it’s running, I’ve been trying to find the wire that shuts down the fobs but I have been unsuccessful so far.

Wow, they must be paying pizza delivery people way more than they used to. :) Thanks for the write up.
