    Not much yet...
Alright so I did a little looking and I can't seem to come up with anything so I'm passing this to see if anyone has any suggestions. Is there any way to add the seat memory on the SR5 Tundra? I have a 17 Crew Cab with the power driver seat. Is it as simple as buying the switch and running it to the control module on the seat? My guess is there's a plug on somewhere on the seat or underneath it and the memory is held in the switch itself. I could be totally wrong but I wouldn't think Toyota would use two different power modules for power seats... One with memory seats (Limited and Platinum) and the base models.

Hope that makes sense. Thanks in advanced and glad to be part of the community.

I would love this mod....often wondered the same thing myself.
Other Toyota models including Sequoia, Highlander and RAV4 have them. Don't know why a 40K+ truck doesn't?!?!o_O

I wonder if some of the electrical gurus on here like @Sting Ray or @TundraTex might have some ideas about the possibilities of using the switches from a
    Sequoia, Highlander and RAV4??

Not a clue... isn't the switch in the door? Not sure if the harness is even there

I'd be surprised if this didn't pass through the same ECU in the door for Platinum/1794 as the power mirror memory control. My guess is it requires the door ECU and wiring, in addition to the switch.

My '18 Limited doesn't have memory and that's probably my biggest disappointment with the truck (which isn't saying much). I found out after I bought it that it didn't have memory. It didn't even occur to me to check as I assumed every vehicle with electric seats had memory. Nope, for 2018 you have to buy the Platinum package to get that. My wife is 4' 11" so she has to move everything around when she drives the truck and it takes me 20 minutes to get comfortable again.

I've often wondered if the harness is already installed in the door and I would just need to buy a switch to enable that function. From what I understand the Platinum is basically a Limited with the Platinum package, so it makes sense that the harness is already installed in my particular situation.

I think the 3rd gens are actually wired more like an SR5 than a platinum. When I got my ‘18 limited I was very disappointed than I didn’t have power-folding mirrors. I did the mod myself, and In my research, I found that 2nd gens were pre-wired and you only needed the mirrors and switch. Not the case with my limited, I had to run 6 wires into each door as well as a pair up the driver’s side A pillar. You might be able to put the door controller in and make it work but I’d count on having to run all the wires.

Would you happen to have a write on you doing the power folding? I want to change out my mirrors to have folding and puddle lights

I don't have a write-up. I used information I gathered from this forum as well as TundraTalk. The TundraTalk post actually had the most detailed information. You need to purchase the wires, run them into the doors, then you need specific terminal ends plug into the connectors at the mirror and switch. I also had connectors in the driver's side A-pillar for the auto-dim. I bought a compression tool from Amazon to terminate the wires. I got a used OEM switch on Ebay for about $50, but there are aftermarket options that are cheaper.

Depending on what you have stock (memory package VS no memory package) there are two different switches. The memory package switch as less pins as the control is in the ECU in the door. The non-memory package has a switch with 2 additional pins.

You seem to know your stuff.. i don’t want memory but on my SR5 is it easy to disconnect the power seat controls for driver seat? I would like to unplug once I get my seat in a favorable position so dealership, valet, etc can’t go adjust my shit just to drive a whopping 20 feet

Ah I think I see what you're saying - you want to disable the power seat so that nobody can mess with it. This is an interesting idea, one that I'd be interested into looking at as well. I think a 12v toggle switch mounted somewhere to interrupt power to the buttons/controller could work, but I'd have to look into it. I don't know if the standard power seat (non-memory) has an ECU or if it's just 12v going to the buttons. You may need to interrupt power for each of the switches (my Limited has a separate switch for lumbar, height, and thigh support) if there is no ECU.

Yes correct I think it would be great to have a disable switch. They don’t just move it back or forward they jack with the height of the seat and lumbar. Drives me nuts. Discount tire guy did it literally to drive 10’ into the shop bay
