Took the housing out and flipped upside down lol. Running the 2019 PRO headlights now.

    What up Y'all.
I installed the 1260 JDM's as discussed in this post and they went in to my 2019 SR5 Off Road Crew in 9 minutes (I have big hands) and there was NO HYPERFLASH!

Franky Approved easy and works A++++.

I installed the JDM Astars as well in my '18 Limited and no hyperflash. So much brighter than stock. Piece of cake to install.

Can anyone confirm if the JDM ASTAR 1260s will function as DRLs in the 2018 Pro HLs?

There is no such thing as a 2018 Pro - The Pro was not made in '18, it came back in '19.

    None (yet)

These BACK-UP bulbs are way better than the factory bulbs. Put mine in yesterday. I did realize that they only work when installed in the proper orientation. I put mine in and didn't work the 1st time. pulled them out flipped and re-installed and all is good.

The Sport has the LED headlights, so the DRLs are the white LEDs and the JDM 1260s will just be for turn signals. I think someone has mentioned that a 2014-2017 with the 18+ headlights and iHacker harness can be set up to run the ambers as DRLs, but I don't know if you can do that on an 18/19.

Ah ok. I have ambers and DRLs on full-time so a simple switch of the bulb to LED shouldn't affect it imo......

I finally got around to getting resistors for my JDM astar LED turn signals for my truck. I have a 2015 with 18+ LED headlights. I had hyperflash without resistors. How do I wire the resistors? Do they just go from the positive to the negative on the turn signal wires? @BlueBottle @NewImprovedRon

Also what bulbs do I need for my tail light? I want to replace with LEDs, I have already done the reverse bulbs and love them. I have resistors for the rear turn signals as well. Just am confused as to what LED bulbs to buy. @BlueBottle

I believe you need 921. Try and find some red ones if you can. You know me I’m a believer for vled so that’s what I recommend. I used their pnp resistors w their triton bulbs up front to cover both front and rear bulbs hyperflash. I don’t like splicing. If you are using generic resistors then they just wire in parallel to you turn signal wires. Make sure to mount the resistor on a piece of metal. They get hot.

Got the front blinkers in and working with JDM astar amber bulbs and 6 ohm resistors. One of these days I will do the taillights.
Huge improvement over the stock blinkers, can actually see them now when headlights are on

If you out 3ohms up front you won’t need any at the back. It will take care of the entire side.

I know. I was going to toss some 3 ohm in but got 4 of the 6 ohm for half the price of 3 ohm. And who knows when or if I'll get around to the rears. I hope I do soon but I have a lot of pans on the fire right now.i need to start shipping syrup asap and that will eat up my next 2 or 3 days off. Then it's on to paint correction on my truck and ceramic, then doing the same to the maple hauler.

Yes concept is the same. I’m sure it will work. The only diff w 18+ is they went to a different bulb type up front but they are still filament bulbs.

Thanks. I was more curious about if I’ll need a resistor for the rear if I have one up front considering the front assembly is designed to draw less power.

It doesn't matter if it's front or rear. It only depends on the total circuit resistance, and the reduction in that resistance due to the LED(s). You can add one resistor each side for both front and rear if you're converting both front and rear to LEDs. Left side and right side are each individual circuits.

When doing only fronts, some have gotten by without resistors on some 2018+ models. I believe it's because those models that already have some DRL LEDs are already designed for the reduced resistance of LEDs. You can order resistors when you order the LEDs and have them if you need, but I would try the LEDs without resistors on 2018+ models. (I hate stripping and soldering.) If you get hyperflash, you can always add the resistors.

If you're converting only the fronts to LEDs, with no plans for the rears, you can use single 6 ohm resistors on each side up front. If you're doing all four corners, then you can use a single 3 ohm resistor behind each rear light housing to compensate for LEDs front and rear.

Check out Headlight Revolution. I replaced ALL of the lights in my 17' Limited CM, with LED's, including the headlights. They provide instructional video on how to install the bulbs. They made the process very simple.

I just installed the JDM 7440's in the 19 Tundra tonight. These things are great. Other cars will definitely see the blinkers now. I would say a must have upgrade for all Tundra LED headlights. These things were less than $20 and took all of 5 minutes to install. No hyperflash.

No resistor needed? Seems like some need it and some don't?

2018 and up only need resistors if you're doing front and rear. I think 2017 and older may need resistors regardless, although they may be in the same boat where they're only needed for front and rear.

No resister needed but I didn't do the brake lights. They seem bright enough.

If you purchase the JDM 7440 thru Amazon it will say they do not fit the 19 Tundra. That is wrong if you have the LED headlights. The ones they say fit (JDM 3056 3156) do not fit. I made the mistake of listening to Amazon and not the pros on Tundras.com so had to return the first set I ordered.

For 2017, any SR5 converted to LED (fronts only) will need resistors regardless...no OEM LEDs at all on 2017 SR5. Other trim levels in 2017, I can't say.

If I do both turn and backup (JDM's) in my 2018 Limited will I need resistors? Seems to be some comments that if you do all four you do...
    Thx

These arrived today. Will install tomorrow .

I’ve definitely noticed fellow drivers being hesitant to make their moves when I’m signaling and slowing down. They I can sense their pissed-off-ness as if I didn’t signal but they saw the signal just way late.

For $20 Amazon prime, can’t go wrong.

Seems to be the 18s and 19s with OEM LED from the factory DO NOT need resistors, and the 14-17s or 18+ with halogens from the factory and the OEM LED upgrade with harnesses DO need resistors. Just an observation from reading thru this thread
