New to the forum, been researching the options for a new Tundra. My lease is a few months from being finished on my Titan Pro-4X and I'm switching to a Tundra. Would rather get a Platinum but a Limited would work. Found some pretty good deals but I noticed you can't get the TRD package with the Platinum. Any suggestions for the best packages if going to a Limited?

    Options I would like:
    Heated seats
    Moonroof
    Nav
    Crewmax
    Bedliner with rails
    Remote start

    Thanks,

    Ron

    Welcome from Washington.

TRD off road can be added later to a platinum or other off road suspension if desired. Platinum has better leather seats from what I hear. Otherwise both are excellent trucks. Just depends on creature comforts you desire.

    Welcome from SoCal!
I bought a Limited 4x4 TRD-OR back in December after spending some time looking at my options; what I wanted to have vs. what I wanted to pay for. Check out Toyota's website and 'build' a Tundra there to see the packages and extra bits you can get. The site is pretty good. I did that a lot  before I spent real money. Like for several years. Remote start isn't in any package; you will have to have someone install that. As for the bedliner, try and work a deal to get a spray on bedliner or Bedrug. Don't do a drop in liner, they will just mess up the paint and provide a great place for water to collect on the newly bare metal and you know what that makes... Some people find the Platinum seats are 'softer' leather or more comfortable so you may want to sit a bit in both it and the Limited. I found the Limited seats to be really comfortable and the leather is breaking in real nice so it hasn't been an issue for me.

Buy the platinum- better seats, better leather, better mirrors, less chrome, etc. Limited is nice, but Id take an SR5 over a limited and swap in superior leather seats. Aftermarket remote start, not sure if toyota still makes theirs... but it sucks.

Echoing what others have said about remote start... Just get an aftermarket offering with the features you need.

Welcome from San Diego. I got everything that you listed in your “want list” on my Limited with TRD off road package. I was hoping to get the power mirrors that come on the platinum but I honestly never fold my mirrors in so it turned out to not be a big deal. I will admit that the limited seats leave a little to be desired. To be honest though, I’ve sat in and driven plenty of platinums. Are the seats better, yes. Is it drastic enough to make me rule out a limited, absolutely not. It’s still a truck. That’s just my opinion...
Also, another thing to consider is the color. It matters more to some (myself included). I fell in love with the cement color and had to have it. They don’t offer the platinum in that color so it made my decision a little easier for me.

Went on my test drive a little while ago.
    Some thoughts:
The turn radius is awesome compared to the Titan. Didn't think a truck could make that tight of a turn.
Power - just about the same.
Ride - The Platinum does ride nicer, may be because I have a Pro-4X. I didn't get to take the Limited TRD out yet, but thinking it will probably ride a little rougher.
Seats - The Platinum seats are sweet, sat in a Limited, though those seats were fine also. I currently have the heated/cooled leather zero suspension seats. Platinum seats seem to be close.
Room - seems to have more room than the Titan. Both are crewcabs but some reason the Tundra felt bigger.
Interior: Less electronics than the Titan but looks classy.
Console shifter - finally back to a console shifter, Nissan did away with that and it was a big mistake on their part.
    Moonroof - Yea, it's a must have.
Rear power window - Yep, it's cool as hell.
Didn't get to try the adaptive cruise or lane departure.

    Some things I would miss:
Surround Cameras - I know it's a truck but once you have them, you end up using them all the time.
Bedliner - Dealer said it can be done.
Remote start with climate control - Dealer said the Toyota remote start doesn't turn heat/air/defrost etc on depending on temp. Gotta go 3rd party.
Push button start - Why are they so behind on this?

Sorry, I'm an IT guy. I like technology.

Since I have a few months to go on my lease, dealer said to wait it out. Do not trade right now. November is my last payment on the Titan, December I will walk in to the Nissan dealer drop the keys and walk out. He is also keeping in touch on the changes for the 2020s.

If I had to do it again I would go with platinum if you Intend to color match. Difference between limited and platinum is the same you will spend
