So I decided that since i needed to rotate my tires today it would be a great time to clean them really well and coat them with my new products.
I got some iron remover for the cleaning phase and also used simple green and dawn dish soap to clean the tires and wheels really well.
Then I applied 2 coats of optimum tire protection coating and 2 coats of optimum opti-seal on the wheels. They came out great and if this shine and slickness lasts as long as some say, I will be a happy man.
The tire coating goes in really nicely, goes on blue so you can see the coverage. It dries clear. I did 2 coats and there is minimal streaking, they looks great and are dry! Nothing to sling or rub off, it's a dry coating
Same deal with the optiseal, just a few sprays on the foam applicator and rub it allaround, 2 coats about 30 minutes apart. It had great shine and depth. It's meant for paint but I figured my wheels needed to be sealed so I'd try it out. The bottle it comes In is very small but you only need a couple sprays and it goes a long way. They claim you can do several cars with the 2oz bottle.
Very happy with these optimum products and I will follow up on longevity. Thanks @War Machine for the tip.

Looks outstanding. Didn’t know they had a tire coating. Opti-seal is one of many great products from Optimum.

Very nice. You did a much better job of getting it even than I did on my first try. Be sure and update every so often so we can see how it’s holding up for you.

By the way, Opti-seal on tires? I’ve used it on paint a few times, but never thought to try it on tires. I think I have two bottles of it so I’ll give it a try.

    Thanks @Pudge !

    Optiseal on the wheels
Optimum tire coating on the tires

I was lucky enough to have the wheels off for a rotation today whichreally, really makes it much easier to clean everything.

Don’t know how I read it wrong. Still a good idea. I’m planning to try some Dlux on my wheels soon. I’ve had it for a while. I’ve also been thinking of trying Shine Supply Beadlock, but it’s expensive.

It's been 5 or 6 days. Haven't touched them. Drove in rain 1 day and wet roads 1 day. Liking it so far

About 3 weeks and 300+ miles into this and the tires and wheels still look great. A few places the coating rubbed off the tire. Those spots look like the tire rubbed a curb or something. I'm very happy with these two products thus far. I haven't touched them up at all. About 1/2 the driving has been in rain which impresses me even more. I am convinced to stick with optimum for my tires moving forward unless some think else comes out and really wows me. Waxaddict had been my go to, and I'll still use it for other stuff and maybe to shine my tires now and then but it's hard to ignore the results of this optimum coating.

I do need a recommendation for a good cleaner to get rid of the brown bloom before I apply next time.

McKees Tire and Rubber Rejuvenator or Eagle One A to Z tire and wheel cleaner.....the Eagle One stuff works great and is a fraction of the cost of the McKees...likely available at your local Pep Boys

Dont try this stuff on the faded cowl plastic lol. I did and it was a huge fail. All it does is seal in the crappy gray faded look.this stuff is a satin finish clear sealant, doesnt bring back any faded rubber or plastic. Now I need to strip the optimum sealant off the cowl and put down some waxaddict soon

Been on over a month now with lots of drivin in the rain. Overall the tires look just as good as the day I applied it. I'm amazed at the longevity of this coating. There were a few spots from rubbing a curb or something that the coating was completely gone but as far as normal wear, it lasts over a month. I touched up the scuffed areas today. Pretty amazing stuff. I ordered another bottle. This pic is before I touched them up. Pretty surprising right? Here is the scuff I was referring to. The rest of the tire is a month of wear

Bumping this product for some notoriety. Thank you @War Machine for letting me know about this. I know waxaddict gets good attention here and I love it but for me this is the best tire dressing out there. Saves money long term and in my experience it lasts for at least a month.
Its available from the rag company and also at autogeek. Not sure I've seen it anywhere else. Take advantage of free shipping when available at those websites.

Glad you like it. I don’t see this stuff get a lot of run on detailing sites, but it makes other tire products obsolete in my opinion.

Its been around three months since I last applied it on my truck. It’s still on there, though I did throw some of the CG Tire Kicker on it about a month ago. The Kicker seemed to be gone pretty quick.

Is the "brown bloom" the brownish looking haze on the tire? I've never heard it called that and didn't know there was something to actually remove it.

It's not easy to remove. You really need a good cleaner and to scrub the hell out of it

Just a heads up. I made a mistake over the weekend. I applied the tire coating on my wife’s new truck Saturday. Apparently I didn’t get one of the tires clean enough. Three look great, one looks like garbage. Make sure and clean the hell out of them before applying.

I’ll get a pic this afternoon, but the coating looks like it’s peeling where I didn’t clean it well enough. It was the last one I did, so I must’ve gotten lazy.

I'm wondering how to strip or remove this stuff when you want to clean and re coat. Never thought of that.

From the look of it, I’m thinking I can scrub the hell out of it and get it off with the pressure washer. It just looks like it didn’t bond, so it should come off. I’ll let you know.

I'm gonna pick up some APC like purple power or something this week and try to remove the coating and redo it. It's been on for over a month now and for the most part its holding up amazingly well, other than a few scuff marks. I tried touching up the spots but it ended up looking uneven, but I'm a perfectionist when it comes to this kind of stuff. If I use tire shine it looks fine but I think the coating needs to be stripped and tires cleaned and then reapply evenly. I'm really impressed how long this stuff lasts.

    Here’s the pics.

    Tire that was cleaned well:

    Tire that was not:

Hopefully this will come off easily. These tires only had one coat done.

Yup that's what a few spots on mine look like. I soon will attempt to strip them, re wash and re coat

+1 for wise guys tire cleaner. As soon as you spray it on, it starts turning brown fr the dirt it's dissolving. And the big bottle is going to last forever.

I got my big bottle of optimum in the mail, but am trying to decide if pulling the tire is worth it, or just rotating it during application is good enough.

I think washing and applying on the car is fine. I only pulled my tires off because I was rotating them anyway.

Thanks! That's what I wanted to hear.

How's the shine compared to waxaddicts? Not gonna lie, it doesn't look quite as glossy. Maybe 3 coats?
