So we get there just in time for the fire trucks to show up. The alarm went off and after all that, the vet had an emergency and no shots..:annoyed:

Here’s the first of 2 parts about progress thus far on the pool accessories.
I had a pad built for the filter but it wasn’t big enough to add the heat to so I ripped it out and made a new one. I still have to cut one paver to fit around the post but that’s not a priority right now. Note that there are 2 posts. This is due to a disagreement between the electrician and inspector when the electric was run. Electrician said post had to be 6’ from the surface of the water. Inspector said it had to be 6’ from the wall of the pool. Guess who won that one? Note that the sub panel has 50 amps of 200 on it. My workshop is only 6’ away from the panel in the opposite direction and that’s where a lot of the power goes.

Here’s the 2nd part of the pool accessory progress. This is some of what I got done this weekend.
The bigger deck sections are the original deck. The extensions on either end are the used deck that I picked up. It doesn’t look like it but it adds about 75% more deck area.
In addition to playing golf today and doing my normal errands and chores, here’s what I got done this weekend:
On Friday, I ripped off the last of the old carpet, prepped the surfaces and re-carpeted the old deck before I could install the new deck. I still have to glue some edges down but I have to modify some of the stainless steel filler plates that I made that go on the junction edges near the water edge before I can glue some of them down. The stainless is too thick and hard for my wood shop tools so I’ll do it in work tomorrow.
I installed the new deck yesterday. I had to modify some of the railings to fit.
Today I modified the walkway to accommodate the new stair location. I still have to pull the pavers out from under the new deck section and replace them with river stones that I have around the pool. That will come later. I also ran about 10 boxes of books and clothes to the Goodwill store.

I took a break from working outside to throw a roasted stuffed chicken into the oven for dinner. My timing was good because it was done just after I got done outside. Chicken, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, garlic beans and home made gravy. Damn, it was delicious.
I made extra stuffing and potatoes so I can make chicken croquettes later this week.

As evening draws near, another perfect weather day closes. Highs near 80. Had a nice ride with my wife and the dogs. There is nothing I can think of other than to have a little Makers Mark and watch the shadows lengthen. My wife just said, " I would love to be able to sit on our porch and never have to go to work again." I said " yeah, its nice." She called me a jerk and stuck her tongue out at me...:eek2:

Damn, are we sharing the same woman?

    How the weekend started:

Had 2000 lbs in the bed, now maybe 500 lbs.

Built a retaining wall, no pics, and now I just want to sit back and enjoy the view, drink some beer, listen to some “as the bell tolls” and be left alone. Lol3495FE3C-3F6B-4E31-87D0-28727714853A.jpg

    Good evening Tundras
Finally got the wife home last Thursday night. Had an issue at 3am with one of the medical devices that’s connected to her. Spent 2 hrs on the phone with tech support to figure out it was defective. Had to take her back to Boston Friday so they could put a new one on her. Got her back home Friday afternoon just in time to meet the visiting nurse. Finally got some rest Friday night. Went to work Saturday for a few hours then went a picked up a power lift recliner chair for her. Helped my stepson move some furniture this morning. He took me out for breakfast seemed like the first real food I’ve eaten in a week or so. Had to go shopping for some medical supplies and a shower chair that fits in our small shower stall.
She is doing ok not much pain but fighting the depression pretty bad. Our 12 year old grandson is coming this week to stay with us for a while to help out and be here when I’m at work. Hopefully she starts feeling better mentally so she can start building her strength up
Thank you Jim,Don,Wayne,Bryan,Panda, and everyone for the good thoughts and prayers
