Bluetooth Reboot—common?

When streaming Bluetooth audio and I select a contact on my OEM Entune screen to call, it looks like it’s dialing the member and starts the call timer on the screen but there’s no audio. Once the call is terminated, the stereo reboots. No issues if I initiate the call on the phone as opposed to the stereo.

Anyone else have this issue??

I have this EXACT problem.

 

My radio on my Gen3 will occasionally reboot itself. I cannot attribute it to the same conditions yours is. Seems to come in waves for me - it'll happen a few times for a few days and then not for a while.

I do get frustrated that the unit seems to deprioritize my phone in it's list of paired devices. It'll reach out 30+ feet to connect to one of my kids phones before grabbing mine about 1 foot away!

 

I believe I have the same issue. I found that the reboot occurs when:

Access Home Screen, which lists 4 favorite contacts. If I have started to listen to music via BT (my iPhone) already, and then select one of the 4 favorite contacts, it will appear to initiate the call, but then goes to reboot.

Once it reboots, it works fine.

Sometimes it does not happen, but it is pretty consistent.

 

Just tested it- it actually just dumped my phone but did not reboot. This is after :30 min driving.

A second attempt after re-pairing went just fine.

2019 CM and I haven't had this issue. I make calls while listening to blue tooth audio all the time. It will correctly pause the music, make the call, and then start playing again when the call has ended. I do this with both the 'top four' phone numbers from the home screen as well as selected contacts. If I run into this I will update.

 

Change the ID of your phones so they will not be seen as the same device, rt_tundra_co.

 

All devices already have different IDs in the system and I could definitely see how that would create system confusion.

 

Okay, the next option is to figure out which phone is your son's and delete that from the trucks paired devices. Tell him he shouldn't be talking on the phone while in your truck anyway. Oh, you know he'll just love that.

 

Mine has this issue as well. I've deleted all personal data twice, and now I'm going to install a Kenwood DNX696S to fix the problem plus get Car Play. Just waiting on my Maestro unit to install it.
