I'm still debating on a 2019 Tundra Pro. Why did you choose the 2019 Pro vs. any other 2019 full size truck?

I enjoy the simplicity of the tundra to everything else. Gm and Ford are just a big pile of gizmos and question marks.

    Dodge is well...a dodge.

I typically like Nissan but it’s worse looking than the tundra in this generation

Question is....why are you buying a pro when there are cheaper models of the tundra that can do the same thing?. I came from a tacoma so I was already a Toyota fanboy and reliability is more important to me, I’ll be the first to admit Tundras/Toyotas have problems(71k miles on mine no issues) but they have less than the other brands. I like my daily driver to start, get me where I need to go and back, that’s what my tundra has done flawlessly.

I bought mine after test driving several others including Ford Raptor

Ford had some nice things but I couldn't wrap my head around all the off road toys it came with and it wasn't for me.

I dont have that little of a dick so Dodge was out of the question and i never watched the movie punisher.

I heard and have seen so many bad things with GM that I just couldn't but i like the looks of a couple of them. But keeping an open mind test drove a few.

I went back to Toyota and drove a 4runner and a Tacoma and Tacoma Pro. The Tacoma had a snorkel on it and knowing me I would break it off.
The 4 runner drove and felt more like a car and coming from a Tacoma I was used to that truck bounce (Most know what I mean I think)
The only one left that I didn't try was the Pro Tundra.

The salesman laughed and said want to take it for a drive?

I did, drove it for a bit and it felt great, the room was nice but I would have to buy this and that with it.
After about 2 hours of haggling I drove it home that day.

I just liked it out of all the others because of feel, looks and features that I would use.

The raptor took second but didnt need all the help it offered with off road ability.

Oh, I drove the pro over the curb they had it parked over and didnt know it. It was like running over a pencil, a f@ken pencil...

I could be wrong, but do any other brands have claim to multiple million mile trucks or towing the space shuttle?

I’ve owned them all (except gmc) and I think they are great trucks. You can’t go wrong with any of them.

Same here...I went with my pro because of voodoo blue. Once it catches your eye...hard not to love it. I do wish the pros had blind spot monitoring and the push start. Once I’m done with the pro, I may give the gmc at4 with the 6.2L a go.

I went with the Tundra because I love the look and because of the Toyota name; plus I'm just not that big on tech in the vehicle.

I went with the TRD Pro because it was the best looking version, in my opinion, without highly customizing and added a bit of exclusivity with the limited production (though not sure how limited it really is).

Tundra TRD Pro are the best looking, most dependable, most reliable, best quality trucks on the road today. How many other trucks are worth so much 3 years later? Resale value cannot be touched. Who gives a crap about some gay ass tailgate? Looks corny to me. Just my two cents.

All trucks now are pretty good quality. Nowadays, if you make a terrible vehicle you won't survive as a company. There is no room in the market for junk anymore. The tundra has good resale value because sure, it is reliable but it's a Toyota. It's just the way it is. I know guys that had terrible luck with Tundras and sold them off for Rams and F150s and they are completely happy. To each their own. Worst part of the truck world is the who has the bigger dick competition with brands, get what you like and don't look back.

Just bought a Silverado 2500HD Duramax so I can tow a larger trailer. Will be selling Tundra soon. Only have 200 miles on the Silverado and am changing shocks. The Rancho shocks that come with the Z71 package are worthless. Went down a street that has dips and the truck bottomed out and bounced like crazy at same speed that I take the Tundra with (TRD Off Road Package with Bilstein shocks). The Z71 package was $500. Total waste of money! I will miss my Tundra!

That's quite odd, GMC and Chevy are the exact same trucks, except for the metal stamping. GMC doesn't make a lot of small cars so I don't know why it's so low on the list. They only make SUV, Trucks.

and Subaru is listed with 136? LOL, no way, I've own 3 subaru's they don't have that many problems.

I think this list is not accurate to say the least, some what from experience.

It’s an index, so I believe that what’s most important is where the brands stand against the baseline, which IIRC was 136.

I would be willing to bet that even though Porsche tied for number 2 with Toyota, they represent a fraction of the number of vehicles and a fraction of the number of miles per vehicle.

I have a 2016 Pro that is now 3 years old with 55,000 miles on it. It's never been near the shop. Absolutely zero problems.

Those shocks are junk. I put Fox or Bilsteins on my last Duramax trucks. My Ford has Ranchos as well so they will be getting swapped out soon.

Yea but this is why the Tundra has run the same power train for the last 13 years. And not changed 3 times in the middle like everyone else.

If I had to guess, Toyota is known for reliability. So rather than release “the next gen disaster” and fix the bugs later, they’ll do the R&D and testing before it hits the market. IF the world never evolved from what was “good enough”, we’d still be beating rocks together to make fire.

    Just sayin ;)

I’m good with that because they tried release and fix the bugs with the 3rd gen Tacoma. The more r&d the better.

    Its a Toyota.
    Built in Texas.
The crew from Top Gear tried to kill a Toyota and even dropped a building on one and still couldn't kill it. Try that with any of the Big 3 trucks...
Yes , its simple and lacks all the techno BS that dazzles the ADD crowd , but thats why i like it. Its a damn truck , not a hipster rave mobile

They do, there are plenty of million mile chevy's and ford's out there. And neither probably wanted to pay the price it cost to tow that space shuttle ;)

I bought my 2019 Pro primarily because I am a Toyota guy and fell in love with the Pro the first year they introduced it. My last truck was a 2002 first gen Tundra that never gave me any hint of trouble. I knew a redesign was around the corner, but I didn’t care. When I saw my Voodoo Blue Pro sitting on the lot I was sold.

I chose it over the other brands because Toyota has been good to me (I have owned 3). Also, the domestic choices in comparable trim packages do offer more amenities, but are also significantly more expensive. I’m more than content with my choice.

It was mainly the color. All the trucks on the road where i live are black, white, dark blue, grey, and other repetitive colors. The voodoo blue wowed me. Ive only seem 2 vehicles in my 50000 population city with a similar color. I liked the trd exhaust which was a nice balance between noise and performance and the offroading qualities stock under warranty. Supercharger should come on once all the warranties die out.
