What have you done to your 2nd gen Tundra today?

Thanks man! And that's awesome, small internet haha. The Tundra won't have any excitement like the 80, for now it's just a normal supercharged mid-travel tow rig. Maybe long travel someday but I doubt it, that's what the 80's replacement is for haha

 

Today I painted something else purple on my truck Any guesses?

Added some spiffy LED reading lights to the camper shell today. One on each side. The Mrs. HIGHLY approves.

Was out of grey paint so I'll have to go back and paint the mounts.

 

Washed it, first time in a month. IMO the paint quality kind of sucks on our Tundras, had a 1992 Lexus SC300 with pearl white paint, 25 years old, 100k miles, it had fewer rock chips and looked like a damn brand new car(yeah it was garaged its whole life, but still). That paint was so deep you could swim in int.

Also replaced the driver's side front turn signal socket. That damn thing had been stumping me for a better part of a week. Socket looked burned, but put a new bulb in and it worked for like a day or two, then quit working. Noticed that the socket was burnt looking and the bulb really felt loose in there, finally figured out the socket was an easy to remove piece, didn't require replacing the whole headlight harness like I originally thought.

 

Painted the Toyota emblem purple. But not really digging how it turned out. Prolly should paint the grill gold now

 

If that's rust and not dirt on your bumper, it may need some purple too

Haha agreed on the rust. My wife won’t let me work on trucks until I finish the basement Reno. So for now I just do silly little things like paint an emblem here and there to satisfy my addiction

washed it and put it back in daily driver rotation while i wait for parts for fat bastard

 

Those sir are the cheapest most ghetto way of installing ditch lights they suit the truck at this point
