:( Sorry, bro. Yeah, no bueno indeed. Too bad Bee Canyon isn't open. It would literally side-step 74 through Hemet.

I would like to formally apologize to everyone..............I'M SORRY.

I though it was known that that pretty much the only way up to that area was through Temecula.

So if it too far for some I understand, I wanted to have a run closer to the San Diego side of the family for once ;)

The start of the trail is basically at the 74 & 371. I feel like either way you’re going east then south or south then east... but what do I know... :anonymous:

If it takes long bring a tent and stay a while. I’m thinking I might.

It’s not necessarily a deal breaker. The original post indicated it was close to Hemet. I guess it depends on meeting time & place. Hemet is about 1.5 hours, Temecula is closer to 2 hrs.

Yes, but you can’t get there from Hemet. Have to make the long circle south through Temecula. Like I said, not necessarily a deal breaker.

Anyone here ever done Forest Route 5S15 or Control Road? Both look like they could bypass the Hwy 74 shenanigans.

    More to Come ...

I thought you guys were going all the way to the 74 on Monday to explore. But then again i did not know you were going to hit up anza before and do Diablo drop off. How far up THomas Mtn trail you go then? The pictures Sam sent me looked like some great yellow post sites.

That would be a cool run once Bee Canyon opens. Thomas mth trail to 5S15 (Rouse Hill Truck Trail) then across the 74 and up Bee Canyon for some camping in Idlewild.

And we’re sorry in advance because you’re about to get sucked in like we all did. You’ll get home after this and already be asking when the next event or get together is. And you’ll get to know your UPS or FedEx guy very well because all the parts he’ll be delivering!

We (me and @Jackjack) actually did Thomas mountain first (with @nishibot for the day) and that night drove out to Anza area, camped, and ran (prob last run of the season) (with @sdde4n joining/guiding us for the day) through diablo drop off and fish creek hitting up mud caves and wind caves on the way... if I had planned it better I would have invited you (and others) but it was only an idea of a trip till day or two before... heck only reason we did both Thomas mt and anza in same trip was because we couldn’t decide on one or the other
