I received this nasty rock chip today on my hood. How does one fix this? Or get this professionally corrected? Correcting this with touch up paint going to be very difficult. Unless you guys have some good pointers. I do have a porter cable DA polished. But still learning.

I would just use touch up paint with clear coat from toyota. unless you want to spend $$ with body shop. trust me the truck will get many chips.

yes the toyota touch up pens have 2 types: one is oem paint and other is clearcoat. just avoid a big blob. you can use toothpick. clean ,apply paint, let it dry then apply clear coat. It will be fine.

you'll get more chips so it's good to have one of those touch ups pens.

At least get a quote from one of the paint repair guys. It may not be much. The dealerships usually have someone they use.
I’m only saying this because I attempted it on my old Tundra and did a horrible job. Looks worse than the scratches did. Plenty of people do a good job themselves, it’s just something I failed at, and probably wouldn’t attempt again.
