Well as you all may of heard 2020 will be the last year for this gen Tundra platform. Toyota decided to go all out for the 2020 TRD Pro Tundra models. For starters the double cab configuration will return.

I thought we could start a fresh thread, and I could answer as many questions as possible for anyone interested in more specs or details.

Just a little bit of info, the 2020 lineup will now have Apple car play, android auto, larger diameter touch screen, dual auto climate control, push button start. There will be 4 available colors, Super White, midnight black metallic, magnetic gray metallic and the special heritage color ARMY GREEN.

Anyone here thinking of going for the 2020 TRD Pro? It’s going to be a bad ass truck, and Toyota listened to us and put all the nice amenities you would expect on a $50,000+ vehicle

The army green will be by far the most sought after color in Pro history

Oh I know I’m really excited for the Army Green, it’s going to be a great addition. I saw a Army green FJ the other day and I must say it’s a sweet color

We got a really nice VooDoo blue TRD Pro, sold the same day lol

Army Green will be sweet. Heard that Toyota was possibly doing away with V8 and going to turbo 6 cylinder. Anyone else heard of this?

So basically the truck will remain the same for 2020 w/ the exception of the upgrades I’ve listed in the OP. However, 2021 models will be a WHOLE different animal

If anyone is looking into a TRD PRO, the 2020 will be THE ONE to get! Probably the last 5.7 V8 in the Tundra, and with the added bells and whistles, and Army Green....I can see the resale value of that particular one staying high for a very, very long time

Dual climate control and heated seats? Is this confirmed? I haven't heard any mention of those two additions.

Any word on what the 2020 platinums will have? I’m assuming some of those features will be on it: push button start, larger nav screen, apple/android audio, etc. can you confirm this? Will the pricing increase with the added features for all models (TRD Pro, platinum, etc)

The price will go up a couple grand. They say the TRD Pro will be the only one getting push button start ect it will now be the top of the line trim. I work at a Toyota dealership, it’s info that basically “leaks” lol

It would make sense for the TRD Pro to get the best trim. It’s their elite off-road vehicle. It needs to have an interior and exterior to match its asking price and to compete with the big three.
I went with a 2019 platinum mainly because the TRD Pro lacked so many features that the platinum has. If the pro had the same platinum features, I wouldn’t have thought twice about it and picked up a pro. Lots of people don’t care about push button start and those other features. For me, if the price tag starts nearing the mid 50’s-60 it needs to have those features.

I’d feel the same way too. However, I’m not sold all these changes are happening. Maybe some. I can’t see Toyota making this many changes to a model all at one time. They tend to slowly change things and do small mods. Plus, I’m sure their main focus is on the 2021 redesign. My guess is they add push button start, possibly add parking sensors, slight nav upgrade, while retaining the sr5 interior.

I'd love to have a white double cab. But, I just can't make myself start over with truck payments again. So, it will be a no for me.

I am on the verge of pulling the trigger on picking up a 2019 voodoo blue tundra TRD pro, (dealer will have it in 2-3 weeks)
But with all of this speculation is it worth just waiting on the 2020 models instead?

They have been adding one button a year for the lat ten years.

Maybe they listened to all the button lovers and thought they should put a little more into it for the lat year of the 3rd before fucking it all up

Just FYI for many of you out there on the fence, local dealer here in Salt Lake City let me put down $500 deposit on Army Green TRD Pro in double cab about 6 weeks ago. They called me back few weeks ago to let me know the deposit had been accepted and San Antonio plant confirmed it back, I was first on the waiting list for this particular dealer. Doesn't mean I'll get one, not in the least, but my odds aren't too bad, and if I do, I'll be one lucky SOB. Rumored there will only be 1000 produced in Army green, but rumors are running a muck everywhere. I camp pretty hard out of my rigs (still driving a 2004 Titan King Cab) so I need the long bed, no kids so no need for Crew cab. Super stoked they brought the double cab back. That being said, dealer still hasn't received any final details that haven't already been released, so still in the dark on "actual" options, not leaked options, and of course the price tag. This particular dealer doesn't upcharge over MSRP so that's the main reason I utilize them. I'll keep everyone posted once I hear more.

No offense to the OP but I often find that people that work at dealerships have less reliable information than what gets leaked elsewhere. I feel like if all of those changes were coming at least some of them would have been mentioned when Toyota mentioned the push button start, and larger infotainment screen with apple CarPlay. Or at least been leaked elsewhere. This info has literally not been heard anywhere but this thread.

I would have never considered buying a pro because of the fact it’s lacking items the cheaper limited has. Specifically BSM and heated seats are the two total deal breakers to me. If it’s actually getting those in addition to dual climate control, leather wheel, etc etc I would literally put down a deposit today. I’ve been contemplating trading my 13 for a 2020 4R TRD Pro but this would single handedly change my mind to get another Tundra.

I appreciate the insider info, @915tundra , really do, but I would reaaallly much prefer an Official thread be with confirmed and verified info so we can have actual discussion on it. This is all speculation still, even if coming from leaks. Still tho, appreciate the early info.

One of the regional dealership reps was here at the dealership and I was prying for info. that’s what he was able to share. I know we will be taking orders very soon for the 2020 models not exactly sure when though

i watched the video on the reveal of the 2020 sequoia trd pro and was less than impressed. still same old interior, push button start. and suspension. that's about it. So i don't have high hopes for the tundra at this point. i'm thinking push button start, another radio feature or two and that's about it.
