I will be removing my door handles for painting/color matching. I intend do one side at a time so that I can still drive the truck if I absolutely need to. If I close the doors with the handles removed will I still be able to open them from the inside? Thanks.

There is a cable that attaches to your handle. If you can still reach that and pull on it then youll be able to open you door. Its not a long cable though, only long enough to reach the handle. Take one apart and youll see and then decide if you can do it. Its not hard to remove. Maybe do passenger first to see.

If you only remove the outside handle, the inside would still work .

Roll the window down BEFORE you remove the handle.

No, I plan on painting the exterior (outside) handles.

The handles will be off the truck for a couple of days outside so rolling down the windows is not an option.

Buy a used set of handles, paint them, swap out all at the same time, then sell off your old ones.

But it will work for you to figure out if the inside one still opens the door.
