I actually bought a set but haven't had a chance to install them yet. They appear to be high quality and well made. I hope to get them on this weekend along with some other front suspension work. I do have a promo code that will save you close to $10 if you decide to purchase.

You enter the code during the checkout. It is "maxx10" without the quotes.

Today, I ordered Camburg UCAs and a custom pack from Deaver. I get paid Thursday and will probably be ordering the Icon CO's and rears. Stage 1 I guess you could say.

For those with Icon 2.5 CO's, did you shim the one side or did you just crank down the preload to compensate? I'd rather shim because I don't want each side preloaded differently. Also, I plan to run 295/75/16’s on SCS Ray10's with 4" BS -12 Offset. I am assuming I'll have to cut/trim/smash to some degree.

Good choices. I added a shim on the drivers side from @Coachbuilder1. David recommended 2 on drivers and 1 on passenger. I might throw in the other two instead of cranking up another 1/2”.

What size tire and wheel combo as well as actually amount of lift are you running? I am excited. I have been spraying the shit out of everything with PB Blaster for the last 2 weeks every couple of days.

285/75 on 17x8.5 4.30” bs -10mm. I forgot to take measurements but I’m probably about 2.25-2.5” in the front.

It's cheaper if you order the front and rear separately. I just ordered both last month.

PM me if you want details.

You guys have high dolla taste in shocks. I guess its not too bad as the Icons come with springs as well. Probably my next move in 5 years time. $1 a day saved from here out and they’ll be paid off.

Thanks for the offer but I got antsy and pulled the trigger. Icons on the way as well as everything else. Plus beers have been consumed so that is always a good lubricant....

It was a really hard decision for me to spend that much money on coilovers. I changed my mind 10 times. I'll soon know if they are worth it.

I know they're great. I have a few friends with tacos, 4runners and Tundras that run them and they swear by them. I was going to go with Fox but I saw a few posts, more specifically something @Casper421 said that made me make up my mind.

I was thinking the same thing but then I remembered I spent $1,500 on coilovers for S2000 a few years ago. I guess I'll keep my mouth shut :spending:

Around here the Fox coil overs seem to fair the worst in the winter. None of the coil overs do great in winter with the road salt, but my buddies that run them have pretty severe rust in the shafts within 2 years

I think most people preload when that option is there. Why spend more money?
I also have 295s and had to trim. Instead of hammering the pinch weld, my buddy at Trail Toys cut a section out of it.

I didn't measure mine and I didn't adjust the preload on my toytec boss CO's, but I'd guess I gained about 2.5-3 inches in front. I did the wheelers progressive AAL with the stock overload removed from the stock leaf pack for 1.5 inches. My truck looks like it's perfectly level. 3.5 in front might make you nose high. But if you keep the stock overload then I would think it should be fine. Also with that much front lift you may want new UCAs and a diff drop.

You may have missed all my posts but I ordered Camburg UCAs. Diff drop to come as well as new LBJs and extended brake lines.

Welcome to the club....I traded my 2017 Tacoma for my 2006 1-owner grandpa special (ie lightly used and we'll maintained with records) a few months ago. Overpaid a bit for it's "uniqueness" but I couldn't be happier. The only thing I miss is the backup camera and that can be rectified.

You, my friend, are a god among men. I really don't understand the appeal of the turd gen tacos lol. You made a great choice. I loved my two first.gen tacos, but I really really love my tundra.

Yup, I was so sick of the transmission flaring up to 3-4000 rpm for no reason and only to be told that’s normal. There’s nothing I really miss about that truck except the overall sleekness of it. Otherwise the Tundra is way more comfortable and has an engine/transmission that actually works!! And yes the backup camera is a must for this truck! 279 for a car play radio and a 30 dollar Amazon backup camera made this truck very modern ha ha.

Your lucky with the grandpa truck! Mine had four previous owners. But seemed fairly clean so I couldnt pass it up. It was also expensive 15k for 98000 miles but they worked with me and gave me a fair price on the 2017 Tacoma.
