Decided to fix the bad Plasti dip job I did on my bumper caps a while back, where there were a few spots starting to thin out and show chrome... 2 hours later, I've pretty much got the front end torn apart.
    15754240-FDDE-4BB7-A19A-79DFDE7BFA21.jpg

Lesson learned, put down wet coats after the first one. Luckily this was from my first attempt with Plasti, and everything since then has been thicker coating.

    Also... I found a quarter?

Installed my Firestone airbags and Toytec Boss front coilovers. I'm tired as Fv@I< and I plan to install my shackles and SPC UCAs tomorrow.
All day looking at my flag that perpetually flies on my roof, thinking about my father In law, J. Totten, 25 yr marine. Korean war survivor. I wish he was here drinking beers and helping me do the install, he would have made it easier, (and more fun), for sure. A great man!

I cut them.with a reciprocating saw. They need to be gone. I didn't want to unbolt them, too much work. If you don't have a reciprocating saw and/or you can't afford one, just use a basic crosscut hand saw from HD or LOWES. it may take some time, but it'll be good workout! :) You can remove them if you want, but it is a hell of lot more work. The lower airbag plates will not go into place with the bump stops in the way. I installed the Daystar cradles. They are the only way to go if you have any kind of lift.

The whole job is pretty easy as far as logistics is concerned. But the "heavy duty" factor makes it a more serious job. My M3 BMW is WAY easier to work on because everything is lighter and easier to push around. These tundras are built to last!

I have changed out my entire M3 suspension several times and I have it down to a three hour job, while sipping a beer or two. Not so with the Tundra Beast. It is a serious job.

Mixture of muriatic acid and hydrogen peroxide. There was a thread here that led me to it. There's more info in my build thread and a link to the original thread I got the idea from.

Wash, polish, two coats of sealant made the metallic bronze really pop. About to start the tailgate pop and lock mod.

Got my wheels powder coated to match the bronze of the 1794 badging and play off of the interior. When I bought the truck, it had these wheels and tires on it but the clear coat was peeling really bad and they needed powder coated, so I thought I might as well customize them in the process. Two tone wheels may not be for everyone, but I think they turned out killer. Planning to ceramic coat them and black out the calipers sometime in June.

I really like how these trucks look lifted! Sick rig!! I want the folding side steps to get the illusion of extra height. I am short so not having steps on a 3/2 lift isn't smart. Would however be hilarious for others....

Thanks! I try to get the paint to this point a couple times a year. It feels like glass. I’d been wanting to do it all spring but hadn't had good weather on a weekend when I was home yet. After a good wash, I used a Porter Cable with Poor Boys World Professional Polish, and then two coats of EX Sealant with Carnauba from the same company. I have no shade or garage to work in, and their stuff was made to use in full sun.

My truck has been filthy for way more than I could handle lol. Been spending lot of time like this.
    20190522_162533.jpg

So yesterday I tool advantage of the nice weather and long weekend to clean it up perfectly. I spent 6 hours, yes 6. I washed, applied bead maker, wax addict on tires, ect. The truck plus wheels being artic coated helped cut down the time lol. It was much needed and now looks great again. Just in time for rain all week and more getting dirty in the next couple weeks.

Think I'll enjoy it being clean for a while and when it starts to get dirty again from all the rain next week when it's due for another wash is when I'll pick back up on getting it filthy again.
