They took my money, had me fill out and sign a form, and the money went through so I was told they would submit form to get me on waiting list. Possible that form hasn't gone anywhere but it seemed legit, it was a special order form. Anyway, that's all I know for right now, I've got a hungry salesman so hopefully he keeps me up on the news.

    I feel you there, Rod.
And yes, I chuckled as I typed that...

I have a huge cd collection and used to carry around books of them. But the new tech is just amazing. You can hold more music on a small memory stick than all of our cd books combined. I even taught my dad how to put his cd's on a memory stick and he brings it everywhere.
That's one technology that I am embracing 100%.

Exactly, plus if you sign up for a service like Spotify or Apple music, you can just stream all of same music without having to store it anywhere....times have changed and will continue to do so!

I agree. My insurance went down about $48 annually going from my 2017 (without TSS) to my 2019 (with TSS).

Good news, dealer called today 5/16 just to confirm my order placement, said corporate has finally "officially announced" there will be a double cab TRD Pro in army green, so the deposit and order form I filled out will proceed. He said it will still be a couple months before we can options the truck...if there are actually any options to be had. So no further info, including pricing as of yet. But if any of you are serious about ponying up for the 2020 Pro and you want it in Army green, highly suggest you hop into the dealer asap and get your name and deposit in.

Bronze rims are cool but if I pull this off I think I'm going to stick with black accessories in their entirety. I've seen some FJ Cruisers in Army green that have gone black rims, black bumpers, tinted windows, and they look REALLY good.

I'm in the same boat and same mindset.

Love Tundra, it's my first choice just based on my experience and brand loyalty.

But come.on, when I can literally get a brand new Power Wagon with a 6.2, 8- speed, 2500 class, disconnecting sways and lockers, all in the high end trim, and still come out after the deal, within $3k - $5k of where TRD Pro sells at.

It's a bigger, badder, far more off-road capable truck, that has all the bells and whistles for around the same money. Less if you go the Tradesman route and put the PW package on. Sadly, all this off road stuff, and PW still out tows Tundra. :/

I'm leery of Ram. My experience with Crysler was not a good one. But I can get a factory 8 year/125k warranty for less than Toyota's too.

... and Toyota, why in the hell can't I buy a friggin blue top trim Tundra this year?

No offense, but you kinda need a lifetime powertrain warranty with a Ram

Several dealerships offer these types of powertrain warranty products in the Southeast. Not sure what part of county you’re located.

I know Charleston does but I live in the north east.

I am reading hopeful rumors of a twin turbo. That’d be nice

Yup, i saw that video from TFL about the turbo + hybrid, maybe getting 30+ MPG and more torque and HP. I'm here for it but most folks here seem to think it will be the end of the Tundra as we know it and they won't be worth owning any longer. I can't see why increased MPGs and possible hybrid are such a bad thing. Toyota is granddaddy of hybrid and i really think they're going to get it right. we'll see.

Following up on your comment here... are you still working on this project? any other 'inside' information you can share? hybrid powertrain confirmation?

Hopefully 2021 will yield an all new Tundra with a diesel option. I need a diesel truck for towing heavier generators easier, but don't want to buy a domestic.

I don’t see more power and torque with better mpg as a bad thing. Some don’t like evolution. They’ll stay behind

As long as the quality and drivability are there I'm open to anything! I hope they knock it out of the park and blindside the industry and customers in a good way. I do hope they figure out a way to allow customers to lift their trucks with the TSS without signing some waiver.

There are 3 vehicles that share the V8 the Tundra has, the land cruiser, Lexus LX570, and the Sequioa. If they kill the V8 which I doubt they will, they will have to redo the rest of those other vehicles, a new 8 speed transmission will not help MPG's, that's what the new 16+ model land cruisers have and the MPG's are still the same like the tundra. It's too early to tell what Toyota will do next for the tundra, I don't pay attention to those youtube videos, they just make up content so they can keep their viewers satisfied true or false. The best news for what the next tundra will have is from Toyota officially, adults are playing around with rumors like high school kids, haha.

I've moved onto another project. I cannot share any information that hasn't been released to the public yet.
I will tell you this, I'm saving up for a new truck in a couple of years. If you're in the market and love Toyota trucks, save yours too. It will be worth the wait.

If that 6.2 is a diesel I would not say it is more off road capable. Met a dude when dove hunting in the mud. He had a winch because he needed it. F250 diesel and he said it was so heavy it would bury itself in mud. He looked at the mud road to the field and said no way he was going up there.

Stumpjumper, the Power Wagon is a gasser, not a diesel. Rumor is maybe a diesel return for it in a year or two.

... and the Power Wagon comes with it's own Ford Recovery Device. (Factory Warn winch)

I just came from a 19 Ram Crew 4x4 Big Horn and loved it except for the problems with many things. Some were TSB's that they would not fix (rear brake squeal in reverse etc.) to the front end shake that they could not address to the ;lack of "plastic paint covering film" on the box rockers where I had 100's of paint chips from driving only 6,400 miles over 6 months.
    No way.
If you buy one you better get 27.8% of MSRP or you will take a beating at resale time. Mega depreciation.
Bought my 19 with 51.1k MSRP for 36.8k and had a hard time getting 35k for it 6 months later.
I felt lucky so I am back to "Yo".
Sure wish I had coil spring suspension and tons of USB and OSB-C ports at my fingertips plus a ZF 8 speed and on and on and on.

If the manufacturers would listen to guys like us we could build a perfect truck.
