Sorry forgot to include that. D.O.A. Shrimp, white/ chartreuse tail. Caught it on my Shimano Symtere spinning paired with a 7'4" Shimano Teramar rod. 10# suffix braid with a 3-4' flourocarbon leader.

Nothing better than cookin' up a fresh-caught speck. I used to catch them all the time off the jetties out of Galveston. Had to give up the boat when the kids came.

Nice catch! Down here in FL the trout are all small this year probably due to the bad red tide we had a few months back.

How do you like that Shimano Symetre?

I bought a 3000 version a few months back and after like 2 trips it got really rough and no matter how much I clean it and oil it it gets rough again after a few casts. LOVE the Teramar rod though. That's the only rod I pick up nowadays unless I'm using one of my St.Croix.

If you ever upgrade reels, the Shimano Stradic CI4 is probably the best one I have used. Plus all the ones above the Symetre have the oil port, which is convenient.

I agree Mike, and that Stradic is my next purchase for sure. I love the Teremars, I own 3 of them. My Symtere has held up pretty good, but I like the grease port on that Stradic.
