    Howdy,

Anyone in Texas care to share what annual registration for 2018/19 Tundra is costing?

I'm considering a move but can still keep AZ....

Can figure out online as there's a registration fee which is like $50 and a vehicle license tax which would/could be $100's!!!

    Thanks,

    Greg

Howdy from Ft Worth. Hopefully the link below will help you.

"Sales tax fees on a vehicle can be $90 or the difference between your previous state's sales tax and the Texas sales tax."

The annual is $70-80ish, some counties have extra minimum fees, would bet most if not all are under $100 a year

    Thanks..

These address state registration fees but not the much more substantial county fees. For instance I determined El Paso is ~$250 on top of all this and there is a list of fees that could ramp it up to over $400 it looks like.... which isn't bad but I'd love to hear from an actual Texas resident who can tell me what they actually paid.

I live in Harris Country (Houston area). I haven't had to renew my truck registration yet, so I don't know what to expect. Our Sienna and Honda Accord were both in the 70-80 dollar range.

I live in San Antonio, my registration fee last year was $85.75 for Bexar County. I had an Escape before the Tundra, and it was in the $75 range.

In Robertson county (biggest town is 5000 people) it’s around $75 normally, with my custom plates I pay $175/yr

    Dang!

I thought Texas would be higher due to no income tax!

I was paying ~$250 for a 2013 Tacoma in AZ.

I guess inspection fee another $50 but looks at least like nothing crazy and most likely less than I'm paying now.

    Thanks,

    GM

Inspection fee in Bexar County(San Antonio) is only like $11 or $14.

Half the inspection fee is built into registration, the other $7 is due when it’s inspected. Might be higher for high population counties though. Texas is reasonable, the states that charge a ton for registration are just a bunch of asshats.

For my 2016 tundra in the Austin area (williamson and travis counties), my registration is about $75. to get the registration, you also have an inspection. that runs about $25.

It the property taxes that will get you. Mine are like $7300.00 for 2900 sq. ft in subdivided neighborhood.

If I add up property taxes, ISD (school) taxes, and MUD (Utility) taxes in my area its about $9500 for our house. It sucks.

Yeah, but no state income tax......... Not sure what would be better. Seems home owners get more of the burden. :(

Another win for the small town/county life, property taxes for the house we’re in the process of buying is under $4000 for a 9yr old house on a little over an acre

I am in Bexar county, San Antonio area, my 14 tundra is around $87 a year for registration. You have to get an inspection every year too that is $7 at oil change places.

I have only lived in two states as a Tax paying adult, and neither had/have state income tax, so I have no reference. Sales tax sucks, but I figure that is almost everywhere. Made going to Oregon fun, though!

When I moved here in 2017 I was in Dallas county. OTD to register a Lancer and my Tacoma at the time was $450. The local mechanic shop by my house did both inspections for $12.

I got thumped in Brazoria County on the sales tax when I went to register my truck. The clerk did not like my Ohio title, and the tax info on sales contract was not to her liking. I think I ended up paying around $900ish.

I live in an un-incorporated area with no city taxes about a mile between Houston and Cypress city limits. My taxes are under $3K/yr. Home is worth around $400K plus. That is the main reason I moved here. No HOA, no dues, no MUD and 1/3 of the property taxes I was paying before. No permits required for anything other than septic work. Best decision I ever made was to move out of the suburbs after many battles with the HOA. I 'm just as close to Downtown Houston as I was before in Sugar Land. Closer to all the Washington Avenue and D/T music venues.

Yaaaaaa, I agree. But that’s a subject for another forum. At least the intelligent city of San Francisco came up with a way to clean the streets of human feicies. If you see a pile, there’s an app you can use to notify the poop police.
