    Many years ago, I bought a 93 Hilux brand spankin' new. We called them 4x4 pickups, and I didn't know I had a Hilux until many years later.

    That truck lasted 25 years, but got relegated to hunting trips in 2015 when I bought a used 2012 Tundra TRD CM.

    Then in spring 2018, driving up to Cloudcroft, NM this happened:

    Happened on 285 north of Pecos. That stretch of highway is Deathmatch 2000 due to oilfield traffic and road conditions, and I lost that morning. Going about 65 in heavy traffic around 6am, a water truck pulled out. Everybody stopped. I looked in the rearview mirror and saw a Cadillac coming in fast. I punched it and got into the bar ditch but he still got me and this baby was totalled.

    It took close to a year before I could get a replacement. Ended up with my 3rd MGM. This one a 1794. With the wife and kid, I wanted the nicer interior. When I can, I'll start on mods to get the off-road capability I want.

    Actually traded in my old girl.

    $500 for the truck, and $800 for the Macintosh stereo and amp I pulled out of it.

    I don't have any pictures of the new truck really other than the Carfax thumbnail picture. Mods will have to wait until I get a bonus or sell some stock. Chrome will stay until I get the functionality I want, so pretty much in order, skids, suspension, wheels/tires, sliders, performance upgrades. Then I can work on the audio.
