What’s the best chip or programmer for my 2019 5.7 tundra?

Suggestions on what tuner or programmer or Chip to use on my 2019 Toyota tundra 5.7

Lol naw Tundra needs to get better than 19.3 mpg.

 

Since you're not looking for performance but just better mpg, you'd be a good candidate for a custom tune.

Someone could probably write you one that only allows the throttle to open 25% and a speed governor set to 55.

Besides that, all you can really do is pump your tires up and mimic the driving style of those Prius's that are often drafting behind semis.

 

Lmao, omg man...wew look you just should not buy a tundra and expect to get "good gas mileage " cruise at 70 and 18 mpg is what I get and that's just amazing. Better then 19.3???? Just sell it

 

I thought a lot about a programmer, and had one for my previous F150. Then I heard about beast mode. Decided 55-65 was best way to get better mileage and use beast mode for performance.

 

Bump It up some and find the sweet spot for your truck. My 13 TSS was way above 70. Our/my new truck gets horrible gas mileage but with the additions in town I already notice a difference so curious to see what it does on the HWY. hoping to get better than 16 but I doubt it??? be happy with the 19, that is pretty good.

 

I was happy when I hit 6k miles my truck went from 13.7 mpg to 14.5
I mean like crazy happy with it.
I wouldn't know what to do if it got 17-18 mpg
If a program would do it . I'd buy one

 

If you are getting 19.3 MPG, then you already are getting good gas mileage!

15-17 is the norm.

You bought the wrong truck... also... how do you get 19.3? Asking for almost EVERY other member here.

 

Seems like my truck likes to average in the 15-16 mixed now.

Heres how you achieve 20mpg:
- Stock tires @ 50 PSI
- drive at Sea Level
- drive 55mph on interstate
- cruise control
- washed/waxed truck
- 2wd truck

 

Crap my new 2019 get 12-13 how the hell does anyone get 19? Always coasting down hill to work both ways lol

 

Squeezing a solid 11 mpg out of mine. I would love to see 19. Just not going to happen.

 

I was just hoping to get 15 out of my 2019 crewmax and I do. (10-11 Towing) Going into this purchase knowing this rig had a 4.30 ratio running gear, 5.7L, I knew I was gonna sacrifice fuel mileage. Most people don’t look at this aspect in buying a truck. I didn’t want a 3/4 ton truck in which most have a 3.73 or 4.10 gear ratio. It is a half ton truck built for towing which I wanted. It’s a beast

Its not all about rear end gear. Its about the total package that impacts acceleration and mpg. Ford, dodge and chevy all used gearing around 3.73 or below that because the transmission gearing is more steeper "higher numerical number" than our tundras. If you calculated ford transmission gear plus rear end gear it has more acceleration in 1 or 2nd gear but in 3 and 4 we have more torque multiply just for towing. Around 3000 rpms is the sweet spot. No matter what trucks will all get bad gas mileage theirs no way around it only turbos and electric will get you good mpg. Yes people say f150 5.0 gets great mpg and its a v8. Well f150 is about 800 pounds lighter and with 0.7L smaller engine and 10 speed automatic i would hope you get better mpg. But with 10x less the reliability of a tundra. When the new tundra is coming out its going to be like in 2007, best truck of the year guarantee. If Toyota can pull off a v8 with really good power numbers and 20ish mpg average and v6 turbo/hybrid with 30mpg is insane too. But for me i will always choose v8.

 

2018 TSS SR5 4x4 20" TOYO RT's if I keep my foot out of it I get 12-13, foot in it 10-11, pulling my boat 8-9. I am adding a https://afepower.com/afe-power-54-81174-magnum-force-stage-2-si-pro-5r-cold-air-intake-system next week to go with my MACH Force-Xp 2-1/2" to 3" 409 Stainless Steel Cat-Back Exhaust System and next week if I can schedule it I am getting it DAP tuned.

My 2020 sees 19mpg on the highway running 65mph. I will drop to 18 running 70-75mph. The best I've seen was 21mpg running at sea level (Florida), no head wind and 55mph on a dead flat road.

 

I checked the bully dog website and they don’t show a tuner for 2018 and up Tundras

Pretty sure it’s cause of the safety stuff Toyota added in 2018. They don’t want you to mess with anything that would make them responsible.
