That's a nice one, if you would would have passed it a few days earlier it could have been a mother's day gift. Women love rare stones. Look mom I made it my self.

Had the Dr go in and get them the hard way twice. Rather pass a dozen more than do that ever again. Passed 4 in the last 20 years.

High protein is not causing that. Look up high oxalate foods. Evidence shows they contribute to kidney stones. As well as eating too much sugar.

I had my first one on my last day in the NG on my last day of my annual drill time. Went to the VA emergency room. They doped me up, gave me some pills for the road and sent me on my way.
Thankfully, the NCOs in ops understood that I was jacked up and let me stay at the company for a few days. After that, it was a week long drive from AZ to OR while bouncing from clarity and pain to medicated and sleeping in my truck. Took almost a month to get those da** things out.

I had gout flare up for a few years before I knew what it was.

Went on a super low carb high fat diet. Zero gout. I eat as much meat as I can, no flare ups unless I cheat and eat sugar/grains.

:eek2:Educational. I’ve heard of these things. I always seen photos of people having a hand on their kidneys with a pain expression. Passing these things in the urine is another story. I’m 68 and never had a kidney stone or THE GOUT (yet). [Lots of other pains tho. :annoyed:].

And people wonder why I drink insane amounts of water. I'm too much of a little bitch to even attempt passing a kidney stone.

I have had only one stone, 4.5mm, and shaped like a spiney sea urchin. I've taken 2 bullets in my lifetime, and I would rather be shot again than have another kidney stone.

I served in Iraq and Syria witch is so hot you never peed till sun down. Mix that with a case of red bull to combat the 2 hours of sleep while on patrol and I'm sure that's is what made my kidneys little jewelry factories.
