My wife is about 3 yrs younger than me ('73 vs '76). I'm not sure if it is the age or her just not wanting to watch good movies, but she's never seen:
    • Taxi Driver
    • Cuckoo's Nest
    • Deer Hunter
    • Blade Runner
    • Warriors
    • Midnight Express
    • Mean Streets
    • Deliverance

I mean heck... I was only a baby when some of these came out, but I sure as hell saw them at some point. Even some of the good-BAD movies like:
    • Strange Brew (Oh-Lu-ku coockoo lu-ku-ku!! Knob-Off Hoser!!)
    • Stripes (Chicks dig me bc I rarely wear underwear)
    • Top Secret
    • Spies Like Us

EVERYONE needs to have seen the above movies at least once.

I just recently saw that movie again, and I totally forgot that BIll Murray's love interest is the chick from Blade Runner.

Oh Crap... Just went to look up her name (Sean Young) and I TOTALLY forgot about another classic movie....
    DUNE!!
She was in that as well. Her and Paul Muadeeb (Kyle McLachlin) Heck, I woulda gone gay for Sting in that movie. :bananadance:

    I'M BACK WUDDUP

for the record I do not agree with my ban. Also, I'll only talk about it around the campfire over a beer. Catch me on the trail and I'll have LOTS to say.

In the future, just know that myself and my group feel highly censored here and if you want our real opinions you'll have to talk with us elsewhere.

I am still officially inviting EVERYONE on trail runs with SGU. We do a run once a month.

I will also help you wrench on your truck if you're ever in my area.

I will also help you work out your problems any time, I love talking trucks.

and of course, I will crack a beer with any of ya'll

Check out my build thread for some new info on longer wheel studs for fitting aftermarket wheels.

I’m glad all you guys are back. I enjoy the extent of your builds. And really appreciate all the knowledge you guys bring to the forum. It’s not the same place without guys like you around here. I’m sorry you guys feel censored, but I want you to realize that you are valuable to have here. I personally am thankful for any feedback and help I have received from all of you. Even if it wasn’t directly to me, I have learned some things and tips from your comments helping someone else.

All sorts of people own Tundra‘s and join this forum. Some may be a little more sensitive than others so the mods have to find a happy medium to keep it clean. Such as politics etc.

Again, I’m glad things have changed and you guys are back!

I'll have to agree with Alex, the problem with this country and world is the level of sensitivity and snowflake mentality that ruins public discourse and is why this place is soft... a great saying goes like this...

"Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times."

I'll let you figure out where we are in that pattern. But I'll give you a hint its the last part...

Point is we feel censored because we have to tiptoe around people asking for advice and opinions, then when they get one they don't like or don't want to hear they complain about it.

Yes not everyone is the same. True not everyone wants to drop 20-40k in mods to wheel like us. But at the same time, if someone offers sound advice like spacer lifts are a disaster waiting to happen don't waste your $, that comment comes from seeing 20+ collapsed shocks cause by spacer lifts personally... not because we want to be ass holes to someone. Because we have experience in seeing the issues and waste of money that comes from bad decisions. I have no issues with different styles of builds, I actually like when people are creative and I encourage it. However, creativity and stupidity can become a blurred area when done with lack of knowledge and experience.

Yeah I agree with Bruce on a lot.

Part of it is also this - many of us have camped and wheeled together and know each other well enough to joke around and give each other shit. Beers around the campfire go a long way toward building relationships. The degree to which we harass each other isn’t always interpreted correctly on a public, text-based forum.

So when someone who is genuinely new to the scene asks a question about how to do something or what order to do it in, it’s easy to respond in a way that some of us will think is funny, but others will take offense to since they don’t know where we’re coming from.

That’s where the mods have the hard and thankless job of trying to keep a forum accessible and friendly to new people, when some of the old guard is all comfy in their underwear already.

And that’s where some feel like they can’t be themselves and get censored for it. There are places we can give each other a hard time and act like clowns, so we’ll be in those places acting like asses. Here we’ll keep contributing what we know, asking questions about what we don’t know, and inviting people to join us around the campfire to share a beer and act stupid.

I completely agree with both of you! I want it to be known I am definitely not offended nor have been. I myself have been a victim of trying to help someone and them not wanting to hear it. Usually my advice is coming from the knowledge I’ve learned from guys like you.

Funny thing, I do want to drop 20 to 40k in mods. I just don’t have it! So instead I do what little I can one small piece at a time. Trying to be thoughtful of what I do spend my money on and put it in the right place. I would’ve preferred to go with a nice mid travel set up but instead jumped on some take off pro shocks. For now it’s sufficient for me and I won’t end up with a collapsed shock LOL. I would’ve preferred something like kings with resi’s and clickers. Then I start seeing people install a secondary shock and I am green with envy! But I’ve got to know my limitations financially. But trying to do just enough to go out and have a little fun.

I understand exactly how you guys feel, through text it comes off a certain way. My friends and I talk shit to each other just like that. If you were to read it in text you would think we are some major assholes. I tend to put on my PR hat when I come here as I’ve learned it got me nowhere being the full unadulterated version of myself. And the mods do have a thankless job so I try to do what they ask.

I know none of you personally but I was pretty bummed when I found you guys got banned. I think we still have fun around here even if we have to keep it a little more civil than we would in person. So just know, if you get pissed off at this place and leave, many of us will suffer without you and what you bring to the table. If someone doesn’t want to take your advice, F them. There are more of us who trust you and benefit from what you’ve got to say. It kind of works that way at my job for me. Some guys just don’t want to listen, even though I’ve had experience with a certain subject matter and they think they know better. OK man! What I like to do when we are fixing some pipes, if one guy wants to do it a certain way and he’s being stubborn about it, I let him. Then I take a sharpie and write I told you so on the pipe. Then when it breaks down the road they get to see my nice little message! It’s happened! Then we laugh!

I honestly don't know what to quote here... (not that i need to). I also know for sure i don't have anything to add to the current conversation... With that said... Its supposed to rain a bit this weekend!!! I might do something easy and if its cold enough see some snow...(wishing) Also... Oside, i've been bugging you with questions... and i have not received a "beer and campfire" invite... Get it together Bro! I'd like that invite so i can deny it... and then bitch about it more later... then one day... i'll join. That is all :mudding:
