Mat (@OVTune), I currently have your old-school dongle kit (and tune) for my Tacoma. Interested in adding Tundra tune in addition to Tacoma tune when it is convenient. On the Tacoma thread you mentioned that:

In no hurry here, just wondering if all those details have been worked out yet. Don't want to clog up zendesk system, or make things excessively confusing with multiple registrations, etc, just saw the Tundra was now 'available' on the website, but i had not noticed any more discussion on adding Tundra for Tacoma users. No hurries here.

only to correct shifting algorithms, not to fix the dash.

If you have our kit from the Tacoma just send us a zendesk message and we can get you setup for your tundra :) support@ovtune.zendesk.com

    Regarding release:

    - we are just waiting on our dyno results to publish everything, including all finalized changes to our exclusive code. (expected by end of the month)
    - release package will come with :
    1. Tune for 87 octane (not available for S/C)
    2. Tune for 91 octane
    3. Tune for 93 octane
    - optional map switch setup / Gearlocking

    Tunes will have :
    Complete transmission tuning
Engine tuning (VVTi, ignition timing, fuel, etc).
    Shift table tuning,
    Torque model control tuning.

    -optional datalog review

Since it has been asked here and on facebook, we will be offering a limited group buy.
Just like we do on the Tacoma, anyone who purchases during our Group Buy, we will donate $50 per order to either MDA.org, ST. Judes, or Shriners Hospital for Children (you can choose). We usually do this with group buys or during sales.

    Thanks everyone.

    Ovtune,

If we have purchased the Tacoma kit do we have to purchase the Tundra tune? I know I will be waiting a bit since your still working on the 2019s.

You do not, just need to license the Tundra to your current kit, we can do that for you.

Our TRD S/C tune is done so we just ordered a Harrop to fit to our test truck. It's about to get real for the Flex Fuel Trucks. ;) (and non FFV of course)

I'm sure it's a solid unit, but without building the engine I don't think you'll ever get the full potential. Even this Harrop unit will put a few extra holes in the block if you push it too hard.
We're planning for a complete bolt in and tuned kit for these Harrops. I think part of the reason they aren't too popular is there is nobody really getting the potential out of them right now and there is no solid, data backed tune for them.

Not to mention flex fuel tuning has been riddled with issues in the past. Not anymore.

To me this reads that the map switch and gearlocking will only be available on the 93 octane tune, is that correct?

Map Switching / other features will be available on "map 2" which you can have setup for any octane.

I have a 2019 Tundra now and have been following your threads on Tacoma World. I was about to purchase the ovtuned kit for a 2013 Tacoma. This weekend we traded my Tacoma for a Tundra. The reason for the trade is my wife and I are about to do a cross country trip from Florida to Arizona towing a travel trailer. I am assuming the chances are zero to have a tune for a stock 2019 Tundra by June.

Going as fast as possible. still waiting on our dyno, that's the only hang up. Tunes are done we just want to publish our numbers.
We've had one of our FFV S/C test trucks out at some races and glad to see our calibration is out pacing other competitor tunes so we are very confident you guys will like our stuff!

When the dyno gets here and the harrop we will have a lot more info posted.

    Mathew,
Will the non-ffv non supercharged tune help with mpg like you developed with the Tacoma tune? When I had my Tacoma I averaged 2 mpg better then stock on 87 octane base. I hope you develop the same for the tundra, it needs it!

FFV and non FFV will both benefit from what we have developed so far (and all features except certain FFV ones are available for both).

I'm actually working on dedicated highway mapping in the ECU to see if we can squeeze a bit more out of it per mile. Highway driving is where I think more will be possible. City driving is...doubtful. We won't have that test done though until a bit later this summer (free update for everyone who has our kit).
We're working on dedicated highway Ignition / Valve / Throttle / TC maps.

Yes I am shocked how bad the tundras mpg is. Our bone stock FFV gets around 13mpg combined.

But the nice part is with TC lock up, gearlock mode enabled and cruise control you can stay locked in 6th on the highway even going uphill, definitely improves on that point already.

The "gear lock", will be appreciated by all. Especially when you have the cruise control on and start going over an overpass, or up a grade. It will stay in the gear you choose, until you choose the change it, instead for shifting down like a madman.

It was Bullydog tuned, from the install. It never ran right . It had all kinds of problems and no one could figure it out. Until Orange Virus got it dialed in. Mathew knows his stuff. It was a process, since mine was the first. We went through many flashes and data logs to get it dialed in. It runs like a beast now and I'm not throwing any stupid codes anymore . I was clearing a p101 code about 2 times a day

Great feedback. I'd love to know how the ov tune compares to the stock Toyota sc tune on a non ffv truck. @OVTune any comment on that? I'd also like to know if u can disable traction control etc through your tune?

No question in my mind that the OV tune is way better than the stock sc tune. The OV tuned is is refined, if you want to call it that. It compensates much better for knock, a/fr and about everything else. It also has the gear lock and he has dialed in the shifting to more precise points. When I am on it, I can get it to shift just below 6000 consistently. At the dirt drags, my truck was killing it on the shifts and also winning alot. I won 6 out of seven races. I lost to an extremely built Duramax, with launch control and compound turbos. He gapped me like I was tied to a stump. I beat another SC tundra with bigger injectors and long tubes, but he was reeling me in toward the end. His long tubes were making up ground . Everyone else, didn't have a chance.
Here is the run against the sc tundra. His was loud, you could here him almost next to me

Thanks for the info! I’ve had the unichip installed for 6 months and it’s been horrible. Running really lean, lack of torque management, dash lit up like a Christmas tree. I’ve hardly drove the truck. Mathew should have my tune file finished any time now. I’m so excited to finally have a safe and drivable Supercharged Tundra!
