My kids don't have a problem. They are 27 and 24 years old though...

My 2 1/2 year old climbs up on my AMP steps, then climbs onto the floor of the truck and then stands up and pulls himself up into the seat. It's a process and it's much quicker for me to just pick him up and put him in. However, I want him to learn and since my car seat is in the middle it's kind of a pain to lift him from the side.

I will say having car seats with the rear Tundra doors is a pain in the ass. I always look for an end spot or park next to an island so I can fully open the doors. If you park next to a car and try to open them to get the kid out of the seat it's very difficult.

Yeah thats one of reason I park either open space or next to am island too. It is pain to hold the doors half way and get kids out of truck.

Since this thread was top on Google, I’ll add my 2 cents. 24” climbing sling on the grab handle works perfect for my 5 year old. I put a knot in the middle so the kids don’t find a way to accidentally hang themselves. She grabs the rope and the arm rest of her car seat and can quickly get up in the truck.
