If there is a thread about it then please direct me there.

I have an USB drive that contains hundreds of .MP3 songs. These songs are stored in different FOLDERS (like...Heavy Metals, Current Hits, The 90's,...and so on).

How do I play these songs by folder? Thanks.

I'm not sure about that specifically. I have the same thing, about 5K songs on a 64GB USB drive. I have it all organized by artist, album, etc. So it's very easy to go into the artist. I'm about to make a run so I can check mine out.

If you go to "Browse", then you can click over one to find genres

From a guy on eBay, can do just about any color too. I'll have to find the link.

Thanks for the information, I didn't see the earlier question about it.

OP, did you ever figure this out?

I've been asking the same thing about my 2018. Seems crazy that you can navigate by all that metadata tags that frequently isn't right but you can't navigate by folder.

My workaround as of today has been to use a program called mp3Tag to remove all existing tags (artists, composers, albums, genres, etc) and then I mass-assigned a genre name to everything by folder. So now the Genre category basically is broken down by folder.

The solution I mentioned above has worked well. Certainly not as quick and convenient and the truck recognizing folders would have been, but the end result has worked.

I use Windows Media and make sure I fill out all the info on the Details Tab
    upload_2019-4-7_7-54-53.jpg
I generally listen by SONG in the Random mode but like TTU19 was explaining you have the option listen by GENRE, ARTIST, ALBUM, or COMPOSER. Another reason I use Windows Media is you can paste the Album Art onto the album and not rely on Gracenotes and their bogus art. Currently I use a couple 64GB San Disk FIT thumb drive, not sure how big they can be, but I've named the drives differently to force Entune to read it when I update it. I named one '2015 TUNDRA' and the other 'TUNDRA LMTD' and optimized them for music. Last thing is I specifically use WMA, they're bigger files than MP3 (think compression) but I think they sound 10 times better.

Forgot the first thing I do after downloading the music and doing the stuff above is I run all my music through Audacity to 'Normalize' the volume that way the music has pretty much the same level of sound.

I used to do that too with a program called "MP3 Gain".

In fact I was just driving a bit ago listening to tunes on that stick and was wishing I had done that first. Some songs were real quiet, so you crank up the volume, then the next is too loud.
