Just put 295 70 18s on with method wheels. Love the setup so far. Minimal power loss and looks great. No rubbing. My problem is I can't seem to find that perfect psi. 35 is nice and soft but I've read it's too low. 40 feels decent but it's a little firmer ride. I tried the chalk test but was pretty minimal difference from what I can tell.

Also I have a slight steering wheel vibration at higher speeds. I'm wondering if the tire shop didn't balance them correctly. Anyone had that problem with larger wheel /tire setups? They originally inflated them to 80psi until I lowered it to 40 when I got home. So my confidence in that shop is very low.I plan on getting road force balanced next week at a different shop.

I run my LTs at 40/35 front/rear for daily driving. I’ve found the added weight in the front end helps it feel more stable but still comfortable at 40. Anymore than 35 in the back unloaded and it starts to feel bouncy. I’ll only air the back up to 50-55 or so if I’m towing something.

Any vibration is a balancing issue.

50 PSI front and rear , seems to be a happy medium :D

Dick Cepek recommended 40F/42R, but I found that too bouncy in the back and too rough. I found 38 all around was good for me.

I'm thinking 38 would be best for me too give or take a pound or two. 35 being too low, 40 being a touch too high.

Curious to see how 35-38 rides. Seems with a max 80 psi, that would be as you say, a little bouncy for a 295.

I'm at 45 with my Maxx's. Tread wear is pretty even. I'll lower it to mid 30's sometimes if I'm up in the mountains for a few days. Better ride.

Good stuff, might lower mine a little when I travel back home, see if mph is better.

Just went out and lowered them all to 38. I may leave it there for a few days until after I get them rebalanced.

Anyone have any experience with a slight steering vibration? I'd imagine it's simply a bad balancing job on the tires. There are a few places near me that do road force balancing. So I'm going to do that asap next week.

This is what I'm at as well. My truck primarily has an empty bed, which requires much less air than the fronts for optimal tire wear.

I've only got about 1,000miles on these pressures,so time will tell.

    Good luck. D

I’m running 40f 37r cold on my new Cooper Discoverer XLTs in 295/70, seems to be the sweet spot. Pressure comes up to around 43f 39r when warmed.
