I’d rather not list. My wife might see it.
Driving through downtown LA today and some asswipe on a red Mustang rear ended me and took off. I tried to follow but there's so much traffic that it would've been unsafe. I thought we can catch up to him later since I had dash cam footage. It turns out the license plate is for a 1999 Toyota Corolla. It's safe to assume that both the plates and car are stolen. I called LAPD and they didn't give a rats ass.

This is the second time we got hit in less than 8 days. My wife's BMW X-5 got hit last week by uninsured-unlicensed-undocumented asshole. He tried to take off as well but he got stuck near Dodger Stadium; which happens to be near LAPD Academy. My wife flagged down a cruiser and they stopped him. Freaking surprisingly, all they did was give him a ticket and they let him go with his fucking beat up car. LAPD says that he had a California issued ID (issued to undocumented immigrants) so they have a record of him. Do they really think he will show up in court to take care of that ticket. WTF is going on in this world!!!

UPDATE: We found him! License plate is 4GEV687. Confirmed VIN and title information. Now time to make this guy take responsibility. What’s classic and not surprising is he has 3 other traffic related arrest warrants.

190508 FW HIT AND RUN PHOTO 1.jpg

This is a still shot of the video showing the red Mustand running off. The license plate is 4GEY687 but for a Toyota Corolla. We also ran 46EY687 just in case we were reading it wrong and it came up as invalid license plate sequence for California.

Sorry to hear about this, Ray. Hopefully you'll get fixed up and the perp gets some sort of punishment.

Thanks @Pinay! Just some bumper damage so she’ll be fixed back up pretty quick. I need to get rid of this bad juju around me.

Good that you had that dash cam, worth it since a lot can be gotten at such a reasonable price!

Left Coast plus undocumented immigrants... bad combo.

My 2014 Jeep got totaled by a Texas prison bus a few years ago. The bus ran through a light and hit me in the rear and pushed me up inbetween a tree two rows deep in a strip center parking lot. The State of Texas is self insured, so they slow moved me into having to file with my own ins company. 150' of skid marks and the bus driver was ticketed. Unfreaking-believable. You can see the old bus imprint on the rear tire mount. I think he was doing 50 in a 30mph zone at impact. Narrowly missed a tree and I hit the Jeep Cherokee. The driver seat and I ended up in the rear seat. Completely sheared the bolts holding the driver seat.

Just hitting trucks that Americans dont want to hit.

Had the same problem a few years ago. They tried to get away but I was faster.

I have a camera now and they were charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

So undocumented illegals just get a ticket for attempted hit and run in California but I'd get my license revoked, pay a massive fine and pay for the damages in Kentucky.........makes sense to me

Sorry to hear, your luck will change.

I have a rear cam too. Where I am our premiums don’t go up if someone else is at fault even if they take off or have no insurance. Video is really helpful to prove I didn’t just back into something. Not sure what system you have there. As long as no one got hurt.

New Rhino bumper? Any excuse to mod lol

The damage is minimal but the felling of being violated lingers. I try my best to do what’s right and always treat people well that’s why it’s difficult for me to understand why some act this way.

sucks, but happens everywhere. I was in a rental car coming out of DFW airport about 6 months ago and got rear ended by someone who didnt stop when the light turned red. Got out to exchange info, he didnt speak English or even have a license, called the Dallas PD, they didnt even care, after 20 minutes of waiting for a cop to show up, the guy drove off. Took a picture of the license plate, and exchanged the rental car. If I was in my car, I would have probably been more pissed.

San Fernando Valley sucks too. Had two cars stolen. First one found up on blocks in an alley. Was towed. Cost me $400 to get it out of impound. 2nd car found in an alley and towed. Cost me close to $500. Was shot full of holes in the front. Cops said it was used in a drug deal gone wrong. Authorities delayed informing me of car getting recovered both times. In the meantime building up$$$$ in the OPG impound yard. Screwed twice. Another time an obviously stolen car was left behind mine in my carport blocking me. I wasted my time calling LAPD. Told them there's a stolen car blocking my way. Gave cops vin info and they confirmed that the car was in fact stolen. After 24 hours the car was still there so I moved it myself. Shortly there after I moved myself out of Kali to CO. Can happen here too but myself and most of my neighbors are locked and loaded in my neighborhood. AuroraPD is fairly responsive. Night and day over LAPD. FYI....the official PG's are a racket here too.

Yep, mustang hits you, but it's really a corolla don't ya know, they look the same in L.A.! The front plates from our cars get stolen regularly yep. They try to get the back plate stickers too, but we score them so they can't be lifted in one piece. My '94 4x4 Hilux was stolen when it was new, the same day the plates for it arrived but I didn't put them on yet. Stolen at 1am from my driveway. The alarm went off and I ran out there with my .357 but they were in the street already :eek2: putting it in gear and driving off. All I could do was stand there. I informed the police it had a LoJack. It was found the next day by a police helicopter that picked up the signal as it was flying overhead. I was listening on my police scanner and heard the whole thing. The passenger door was all wacked from them trying to punch the lock, and they busted the 4 wheel drive shift linkage .
Hope they catch that guy in the 'corolla'.

Insurance is what matters. Hoping someone hits you that is fully covered like you are is few and far between in Los Angeles.

A non immigrant hit my Lexus parked, tried to run but her wheel fell off 2 blocks down, the cops did nothing even though she clearly was running. She didn't have enough insurance to cover anything and since i am fully covered my insurance paid for it all...

Even worse is if someone hits you and you have the same insurance... lol. That's a shit show.

Generally in LA the police is there when you don't need them and not there when you do need them.

Yeah... most likely! It is the Texas Atty General's department you have to deal with here on any accident involving a State owned vehicle. You better have good INS... That was an old steel bus that hit me. Probably outweighed me at least 10-1! Just glad that I walked away with not much more than a concusion and some sore knees... Actually drove the Jeep back to the house. The big rear bumper saved me. Air bags didn't deploy...

I also had to choose between the Jeep Cherokee or the tree... you can clearly see which I chose from my Jeeps fender damage...LOL It was good split second call...haha
