    Another plug for an awesome antenna. Ordered the same one as the OP, and lots of other folks as well, removed my factory wip antenna and installed the new one. Still have my HD stations that I had before and seems to work great. I haven't had it out on the road for any length of time, but so far it's great. Looks much better too. Thanks to the OP for creating this thread!

    Has anyone bought the 13" flexible antenna? Broke my stubby off wheeling. Just wondering how flexible it actually is? And I'm assuming reception will be slightly better than the stubby?

    I was driving on the freeway yesterday and saw my stubby moving more than usual, I checked it out when I got home and sure enough the little metal stud inside had snapped.

    I wonder why it happened, I don’t go thru car washes, I hand wash. Maybe it was this Texas heat (107) and me speeding that made it fail.

    That's how mine broke. But I broke mine hitting some bushes. Replaced with the 13" flexible one. Getting better reception now.

    Wondering if anyone has tried replacing the oem wip antena with a roof antena. Is it possible? As I understand that wip antena is only for the radio AM and FM stations. Please advice.

    I guess this would be the place to ask:
    I have the stock antenna, in kinda in the mountians reception blows up here. but in the city its not that much better.

    I want to go with a stubby so it wont hit my carport any more.

    My question is: Is there an antenna signal booster I could use? any improvment of FM would be nice.
    Stereo is all stock.

    Several guys here have had their stock antennas snapped off in touch carwashes. My only advice is to avoid using touch carwashes. Not only can they break your antenna, they're also extremely hard on your paint.

    As of today (5/8/2019) we have launched a second version of the 6 3/4" which has the same great reception, just stronger as we wanted to build the first car wash proof antenna on the market. 6 years ago we were asked to build a short antenna that gets good reception, so we did. Then we were then asked to make the 6 3/4" so that one could leave it on in a car wash, after 1.5 years of R&D and months of testing its durability can officially be said to be car wash proof. At this point we are covering the second version broken within the first year. I would suspect that it would be good for many many years of car wash abuse; That is you run your Tundra through touch car wash to begin with.

    The original version was tough enough to handle touch car washes, we just could not guarantee it. For those who have the original version which would be any purchased before 5/8/2019, in the event your antenna breaks in a car wash we have decided to arrange an upgrade/swap deal where we would simply ask for the $8.99 shipping to be covered.     Not many yet, mostly stock.
    The one I bought from Amazon works great, it's advertised allot on the adds that pop up below. Type in stubby Antenna. Several come up for purchase. Again mine works great, Car wash approved. Good Luck.

    I would recommend the 17" All-Terrain antenna which is the same antenna as the 13" you mention, just longer. This antenna will work better in rural and fringe areas.
