    How much would you add to the oil before an oil change? Does it not affect your oil levels? Are there any potential problems that this could cause from overfilling?

    I use seafood in everything. Does wonders. noticeable increase in fuel economy when I used it in my car a few months ago. I recently put some in my Tundra's Crank case as well to see what it'll do for deposits. I was a bit leery of doing this, but supposedly it's perfectly safe, so I took a chance.

    When there is about 500 miles remaining before my next oil change, I usually pour half a can in the tank and the rest in the oil. This practice keeps things nice & clean.

    Gas stations that apply a particular set of standard are able to qualify as a "top tier fuel" participant. It represents the use and amount of detergents they add to the gas. Its legit, as in they have to prove they comply with the standards.

    Seafoam, ive used it for years and on pretty much any engine , small and large. Theres some youtube vids also that show positive results. Are they significant? I think they are, some may not. But they did show it works.

    And the smoke that happens after its used in the vacuum lines, thats not actually from the carbon burn off. Its from the oil in the seafoam.

    Yes,You understand me correctly.I pour an entire quart of dexron 2 transmission fluid in the gas tank with a tank full of gas.I use the cheapest dexron 2 or 3 fluid they sell.I know some people think I am crazy but it works.it is still crude oil just a different blend.when I had carburetor cars ,I would slowly pour water down the throat of the carb. The water would clean the valves and intake.I am currently working on designing a "ram air" system for my tundra.When I get it installed I will send pics

    Why not just replace the injectors with the higher hole count injectors. Get ahold of dirtydeeds for more info.

    PS....I don't trust seafoam. Would hate to have that feeling of "why the hell did I do that"

    @marbleville Once you have it "cleaned", then fill up with Chevron gasoline every once in a while. Their gasoline has the same Techron added, and their gasoline price is often, but not always, the same.

    I use the Seafoam in every gasoline burning engine I own.
    Interestingly, I just did my 2005 Tundra with the Seafoam direct spray.
    There was some smoke, but not like other cars I have done.
    Only 77K miles on the truck. Previous owner took good care of it.

    I use it in the fuel tank on all my vehicles

    Good gas is non-ethanol gas. Have seen mechanics pour about four or five bottles or more of Chevron Techron concentrate into appx a 1/4 tank of fuel to clean out the injectors if clogging up, and it works. Ya just have to stay on a long road at warp speed until the smoke stops pouring out the exhaust. Another old one is using Lucas fuel treatment or Marvel Mystery Oil in the tank for maintaining a clean system. Mercury Quickleen is an excellent go to for fuel additive.

    On the flip side, I've heard from more than one mechanic say they will not put any engine cleaner in an old motor's oil directly or via intake. Built up carbon and sludge are not completely dissolved in the oil by any cleaning additive. Oil passages eventually become blocked by larger loose deposits flowing in the oil, and it's no surprise the motor will not last long after the cleaning process.

    Ouch! Now that you have brought it up, I can visualize it with ease and wonder how I missed it. In essence you create a clot or two that clogs the truck's arteries and cause a stroke of sorts. (I'm a former heart valve replacement patient, awaiting a second procedure to repair the repair. I doubt there is an artery in me that hasn't had a micro camera attachment shoved up it.):ballchain:

    I also have heard “horror “ stories about using seafoam in older engines and have been scared to try in all my previous “high-mileage” vehicles- but now own my first new vehicle.

    I have 18’ Tundra with 3000 miles on it - will have had it for a year next week- only drive it on weekends !
    I worry about the truck sitting and not being regularly driven!

    What would u guys/ any mechanics on here suggest as far as seafoam/ fuel & oil additives for my situation????
    Amount/ frequency suggestions PLEASE???

    I think Seafoam and similar products are good to use from the start as part of regular PM on our trucks. Older high mileage motors that never had extra PM...:notsure:

    Yep, exactly what my mechanic said. If I had been using it all along I probably would have been ok. This is the guy who just replaced the tranny the year before, also the guy who told me to just go get a new truck after the lifters went. Pretty bad when your mechanic is tired of taking your money huh?
