Im ready to purchase switchback bulbs for my spyder headlights so I can get rid of the amber bulbs. Im getting ready to pull the trigger on VLed's but it just seems like dropping almost $200 after shipping on two bulbs is insane to me.

Any other reasonable options out there? Dont want to deal with hyperflash either.

    This is what I'm considering:

I have those switchbacks and the socket adapters on both sides melted on me. I submitted a warranty request in September and still don't have replacements. They were supposed to ship October 17th but I've yet to receive a notification that they have.

When they worked they were amazing and looked great. I don't think they're worth $170 if they are going to fail after 3 months.

Purchased in late June, so it was more like 2 months.

Yeah, I think I remember reading your posts on that Mike. Looking like the adapters are backordered until 10-28 now. Hoping to find a cheaper and more reliable option.

I tried some on Amazon that claimed to work without controllers and to be a factory fit. The bulb base was a poor fit and had to be forced into the housing (not extreme force, but it took some cajoling). After getting them installed the lights functioned poorly and I couldn't get both sides working at the same time. I ended up sending them back for a full refund.

If you find another option please let me know.

Ahhh, good to know on the Amazon bulbs. I remember when you posted about having ordered them but couldn't find that post for th life of me. Never knew that it was you that posted it and wasnt sure of the outcome. Good to know!

Mike, did you have to remove the grill and panel under the headlight and remove the headlights just to get to these bulbs?

No, the DRLs you can access without removing the headlight assembly, just from inside the engine compartment.

Unacceptable Steve. The only way I will forgive you is with an update on the status of your retrofit haha

I've had the Vled switchbacks and all their other interior and exterior bulbs for about a year and I would buy them again. One of the swtichback bulbs went out a couple months after getting them but had a replacement at my door 2 days later free of charge. You definitely get what you pay for when it comes to LEDs.

All my lights are LED, including my headlights. The only my ones that failed on me were the VLEDs.

I feel VLEDs is a lot of hype and the quality is about the same as much less expensive options. That's just my own experience though.
