That's pretty much what I was looking for. They said they didn't have any boxes that would fit behind the seat and them building a box would have been expensive

I know! I think it radiates more bass from the subs, I put in 10" shallow Kickers.

Does the coating make the enclosure weigh a lot more?

I'm not sure! The enclosure is pretty solid as it is, got it installed behind the back seats and I had the high-power terminal cup terminals too

I doubt it would be anything significant.

The liner is mostly cosmetic but i would also assume it help lower the resonant frequency and kinda deaden the echoish-ness inside of the enclosure if the coats are thick enough. Mostly cosmetic though.

How does this sub sound? I wonder if it would work in the box from JRT at Tech12volts. I’m wanting to upgrade the sub, or add a second 10.

Its a really good sub for a shallow mount. Its also the highest priced one out of the main options.

Ive done two builds with the kicker shallow mount sub. The 10 and 12 both surprised me. Its a little on the high side imo, but you can find them for sale or used all the time. The fosgate and pioneer i imagine are quite similar.

Im pretty sure the jl is just at the limit of what will fit under the back seat.

It sounds great. It’ll thump if you give it to her...tho not really my style. It’s a crisp, deep bass and will hit. Being so thin it may lack something the big boys have, but I don’t have the expertise to notice. I would think it should work in damn near any box, they don’t get much thinner than this, should have depth measurements for sub somewhere in tech specs. I’d absolutely recommend it. Id get rid of that stock jbl sub, if I were you, and run a single decent sub and upgrade to a second in the future.

I already upgraded to the JBL Club WS1000, got it through the group buy from 12tech volts. Debating on adding a 2nd sub or just upgrading once again.

OP if you have a DC nothing fits behind the seat. The one you have linked look like it should fit but take all you under seat space, here is mine from James with 2 10's. So I kepted some under seat storage. Also did the rear seat fold down mod to get more storage space.

I got this Pioneer sub on Pioneers website it’s a sealed 10” sub.

I wanted to keep the cargo box so I found a sub that was pretty thin to stay with in the walls of the cargo box.

    Tundy,

Doesn’t slide around at all, it’s mounted in there like the amp.

And yes it hits hard and clear no distortion at all. My rear view mirror shakes just right.

I just started my install on my ‘18 CM yesterday. This is a custom box and amp rack I built for the JL 10TW3 and Slash 500/5. I was able to use the factory bracket to mount the sub box and the passenger side mounting point for the amp rack. 3DE2857D-FF1A-4460-8319-C12E6617E7CF.jpg

I had this 10in and its easy to distort... I tried the 12 in and found the same issue, so I ordered the JL Audio 12 Microsub and it smokes these two by far! The only problem is finding where to mount the box that fits...

Thanks! I went with the Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX. It sounds pretty good as-is. I got the HAT 3-ways installed and front doors matted 2 weeks ago. I still have to treat the back doors and have a fair amount of tuning to do, and I’ll pribably end up getting a TWK-88 at some point so I can really dial it in. It’s so nice to finally hear some bass in this truck!
