There are some that don't want this stuff though, should at least be an option. I'm one that doesn't care for the TSS stuff, cruise control I have never used on any of my vehicles. I like to modulate the throttle with my right foot, the computer doesn't know what I'm thinking in terms of lane change..etc. To each there own but to force everyone to have it is a bummer, I won't buy a newer tundra because of that system so they have now lost a customer but probably gained a millennial I guess.

I understand. One great thing about the TSS though is it's effect on your insurance rate!
I replaced a very tired 240k 2003 GMC Yukon with basic liability insurance only with a new SR5 with full coverage and a lower deductible. My insurance premium only increased by $40 per year! Couldn't believe it!

You don't have to use the TSS features, you can turn them off, including the adaptive cruise control.

Agreed but don't you have to do that everytime you start the truck? Plus then I am paying for a feature Im not using which is pointless. Should be an option, should just offer the Sr model without this option.

I think it’s highly disappointing news for sure. I’m weighing selling and getting a power wagon.

Those are good looking trucks, I've never owned a Ram truck but I have to say they right now have the best looking truck interior and exterior with good pricing.

Why not just spring for a diesel if going 3/4 ton?

After 6 years of payments on my 2013, I think I'll just stick with what I have. It will be paid for in June! It's a basic truck, but hopefully it will last for years.

Maybe he’d rather have the Offroad chops versus higher towing. I always laugh when people who never tow a damn thing buy HD diesels. I wouldn’t want to touch any of these new diesels with all the quirky emissions stuff if I didn’t require it for towing needs.

I wouldn’t need a diesel and the front and rear lockers, winch, sway disconnect, etc. is a huge selling point. If I added what the power wagon has on my tundra, I’d probably avg 10mpg lol

I mean I get that argument in the case of something like whether or not to get 4wd. 10k is a big premium to pay on the off chance you find yourself needing double the towing capacity lol.

Just pointing out that as a likely hypothesis as to why no one discussed it either time you mentioned it here because they have already discussed in said aforementioned threads.

Plus, the shared platform has nothing to do with the 2020 Tundra. That is in regards to the next generation 2021/2022 Tundra.............

I'm holding out for 2020 just for the return of pearl blue. Hopefully they will have a beige interior option for me too.

The updates also excite me. Heard mumblings of a possible 8-speed, but I read it on it on the internet, so you know it's gospel...

Overall, it's the updates announced and confirmed are welcomed. However one I was sad to see. Voodoo Blue bows out for 2020, so that Amy Green and dark grey have room. Boo.

New to the forum, still driving the original 2004 Titan, I've replaced plenty but never touched the engine, its a workhorse. But alas, this 2020 Pro in Army green had me walk into the dealer this week and plop down $500 to get on the list now that they are bringing back the double cab. They have zero information that we all don't have, including pricing. I was first on the list so I might get lucky. Fingers crossed. If I don't get lucky I'm going to buy a base model double cab and do the mods at a local shop. I want to get one before they come out with next gen or add any more unnecessary tech that fouls me up when I'm off-roading.

TSS I could do without. I just had the recalls done for it but I could care less for it. I’ve had JBL in two Tacoma. Nice but aftermarket is better but I prefer stock honestly so the JBL option was nice. Push button start, at first I laughed but as the days went on it was nice to grab my keys from the hook on the wall, grab the door handle, have it unlock by itself with that fancy touch button on the handle, hop inside and press the button and take off.

My last Tacoma was perfect except they didn’t offer that push button with the manual. Only autos.

Anyways, my point being some of these features I laughed at them at first but once I started using them everyday they were sort of nice. One more thing to add to the list that “could” go wrong but in the end are still nice eventually.

I agree with you on that. I laughed a bit about the keyless entry and push button start back before I bought my 3rd gen Tacoma. But it really got nice not having to take out my keys at all and so convenient. I miss it a little bit in my new Tundra but it’s not a deal breaker. It will be in the redesign and I will get it then. It is amazing though how convenient it was especially when we all thought it was soo stupid a while back.

I'm assuming someone at TMMTX hooked you up?! And they couldn't share info on the updated audio display?! Shame....that's the best part!!

CD player is gone, slightly bigger screen. Updated software.
