I tried a search but did not find what I wanted. I do not think it could be that hard on a brand new truck. It there a place on the frame to hook the driver's side hangar? I am not going to pay the dealer and extra $400 for parts and install.

The TRD exhaust comes with a hanger that bolts onto an existing hole for the driver side tailpipe. There is also very detailed instructions showing how it all goes together.

If you have any issues with install please feel free to give me a call from under your truck if need be.

I am pretty mechanically inclined and this looks easy to me. I figured the hangar was just a bolt up. I am still a ways out from buying one. I think incentives will just get better. Ford is planning to shut down truck factories. I think next year will be a buyers market from all that I have read. I feel sorry for the poor dealerships that are just popping up like weeds around here.

It's extremely easy. Did mine last week in about 30min or so. That was using a full lift. On my back in the garage, or driveway. 1-130. It's really simple the way they make it.

Are both parts of the TRD Exhaust necessary for install? I thought I remember reading one part is like $500 and the other $400. Dont remember the details.

Just so everyone realizes, Keith @dirtydeeds sells his own custom exhausts and is offering his help to others installing the TRD exhaust. What a guy! You are top notch Keith! Thanks for being on here, we don't take it for granted!

Yes, you need the muffler kit and the tailpipe kit.

My thoughts as well. Keith is a real stand-up guy. And OP if you haven't committed to a TRD exhaust yet then you may wanna do your diligence and look into BAMufflers from dirtydeeds. Theres a reason most active members on this forum that have swapped out exhaust go with BAMuffler (its in the name....BADASS).

    Thanks for the mentions guys.

I do build bolt on exhaust systems for Tundra's. Have for the last 13 years:)

The trd system is an awesome system. Especially for a stock offering. Frankly, no other brand offers a better 'aftermarket' dealer provided offering in my opinion.

That's why I looked at it so closely and asked myself ,"how can I improve this system?"

With the uneven firing order of our v8 the exhaust pressures are too little in one bank while being too much in the other bank. An x pipe equalizes this pressure and allows scavenging to start a lot sooner. This becomes low end torque.

Another improvement that I made is adding helmholtz resonators. Without them any tundra without its stock muffler installed will drone.

Matter of fact, my system is almost identical to Trd except that it has helmholtz resonators and an x pipe. All the while, less $$ than if you buy a Trd system and add an x pipe and helmholtz resonators.
