Sorry to post a new thread here on such a bloody and dead horse topic, but I've searched for "painted grille" and the results are giving me tips on painting the surround and bulge (understandable).

I like the look of the trd pro grille but so does EVERYBODY. I've ordered a "model T" emblem from Diaz fabrication and plan on using that to set my truck apart a little.
On the 2014's it seems the actual grille (not surrounds or bulge) is slightly gray/charcoal instead of black.
I'd like to paint the grille a deep black but not glossy to match the bumper and mirrors etc (and the rest of the black on my truck).
I've read some good stuff about plastidip but I don't want it too peel or fade. Same with using lineX.

Anybody had any success with a particular brand / type of paint for this that is durable and resists fading?

    Thanks!

I painted mine a couple of weeks ago with some rustoleum semi gloss black and it turned out pretty good. IMG_1157.jpg

I appreciate it. I just scuffed it up real good with sandpaper and put on 3 coats of primer. Piece of cake.
