I love Belgian waffles!

We make Belgian cookies once a year, only at Christmas. It's an old family recipe.

 

I haven't left there hungry or unhappy yet, though the wallet might have. After looking at those recipes I'm not sure it's quite the same thing, these aren't as puffy. Close though.

Nothing like a Belgian waffle! not really like a normal cookie either, they are not sweet, and they are kinda heavy for a cookie! They are made on a traditional waffle iron, not the ones that you make Belgian waffles on. So it takes forever at 4 at a time!
Couldnt even tell you the actual ingredients without the recipe, it goes by pounds, everything gets weighed! and by the dozens of eggs...it takes a couple of days to make!!!
I will give you some this Christmas!

I have actually put a few slices of apple in with onion before but I dont think I have ever had a Walla Walla onion!

 

Pretty sure that's the one I had last time, and at least in my opinion, no, it was good. With some farmer sausage.

We've made a dish of fried apples and onions with a bit of bacon, goes great with pork roast or chops. Got the idea from reading the Little House on the Prairie books to my boys a few years ago, it was one of Almonzo's favorites from the book Farmer Boy. Not a typical dish, but the fried onions end up as sweet as the apples.

 

Those sumbitches are second only to Vidalias. A really close second, like maybe electronic timed.

Google walla walla sweet onion. They are amazing. Farmer grows them right across the street from my dad's place. He usually gets a box from them.

I should of learnt by now the harder I laugh at her the more crazy she gets

 

She grabbed my umbrella and wouldnt let go so I tried to distract her...I put toys on her head, I had them stacked up at one point
