Go with the best and oldest vent shade maker. AVS. In channel or tape on both good.

YES I AM GOING WITH AVS..BUT WAS WANDERING WOULD THE IN CHANNEL INTERFERE WITH THE WINDOW CLOSING BECAUSE I THINK THE 2018 CREWMAX IS EQUIPPED WITH SAFETY FEATURE THAT PREVENTS WINDOW CLOSING IF IT DETECTS AN OBSTRUCTION LIKE A HAND IN THE WINDOW ..THE IN CHANNEL WOULD BE INSIDE THE CHANNEL WHERE THE WINDOW WOULD CLOSE TIGHT...

I have a 2017... good question to ask AVS or your Toyota dealer

My current set is tape on AVS. Been on now for almost 4 years with no issues.

I've had that issue with the passenger front window in my 2014 Platinum with in-channel AVS vent shades. I'd go tape on, if I had it to do over.....

I've got in channel on my 17, zero issues so far. The wife's Tahoe has them as well, going on 5 yrs, zero issues.

Probably not a popular opinion, but I’m actually a fan of tape-on. I’ve had in-channels on two vehicles, and because the in-channel tape can lose its adhesion to the rubber material of the weather channel even after proper prep treatment, over time the in-channel ventshades start experiencing annoying wind noise / rattle. I totally like the look of the in-channel better, but the wind noise on my two vehicles about drove me mad. I never had issues with the tape-on which adheres to the door’s metal surface.
