I read every single day. I’ve averaged close to a book a week since I was a little kid. You guys read a little bit more intellectual stuff than I do though. I only read non-fiction. Mostly adventure, mystery, supernatural, that kind of thing.

I like Cussler and King also. Never got into Clancy, other than his name being on my favorite video game.
You ever read Lee Child’s Jack Reacher books? I dig those a lot.

Na Jason haven't. I would read that. The movie's were pretty good. No John Wick, but badass.

It’s funny that Tom Cruise played him. In the books he’s 6’5”, 250 lbs.

Reacher is a total badass like John Wick.

“I have to warn you. I promised my mother, a long time ago. She said I had to give folks a chance to walk away.”

“He picked up the wrench and broke the guy’s wrist with it, one, and then the other wrist, two, and turned back and did the same to the guy who had held the hammer, three, four. The two men were somebody’s weapons, consciously deployed, and no soldier left an enemy’s abandoned ordnance on the field in working order.”

    History:
Empire of the Summer Moon - absolutely incredible detailed history of the Native Americans and the battles of settlement of the West. I couldn't put it down and I was never thrilled by dry history books. Definitely one of my top 5 all time reads. Warning - extremely descriptive and graphic.

    Desperate Passage
    - Exceptional chronological history of the Donner Party. Guaranteed you haven't heard this story. Pretty cool for me being able to actually go check out the places mentioned in the book.

    Funny:
A Walk in the Woods -- Bill Bryson. Had me laughing out loud. Got kind bored with some of his other books. But this one was good.

Just about finished A Time To Die by Robert Moore.

It's an in depth look into the Kursk submarine disaster. It's a horrible tragedy and I can't imagine the terror and despair those men felt, trapped in that sub. The sheer incompetence of the Russian government in this incident is rage inducing. I can understand wanting to keep secrets, especially with the end of the Cold War having been so recent. But the incredible lack of forethought with regard to funding their rescue program, unwillingness to move quickly, take some responsibilty and rescue those men cost the survivors their lives. The people in charge were primarily concerned with covering their own asses, not with rescuing their men.

Back to work means back to audiobooks. Just finished No Shortage of Good Days by John Gierach.

Starting Executive Orders by Tom Clancy. Unabridged, 50 hours long. Should be done this week. On deck is Guns, Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond since I still haven't had a chance to finish reading my paper copy
