I have not had that issue on mine but it does unlock first before starting and then relocks after start. I just used the suggested settings from Fortin when I flashed my EVO-One module. So far working great and does have a good range for the 642 remote. I just wish that first module I had would have worked. :-(

So just wanted to update this yet again. The remote start is no longer working as of this am. I'm too aggravated to dig into it now but I'll see what the problem is before the weekend is up.

Follow up to this. I pulled the box loose from where I zip tied it out of the way and it worked just fine. So I rechecked all the connectors and velcro'd it to the side of the cluster underneath the dash. Its working fine again.

My Fortin EVO One does that same thing where if the doors are locked and I press 'lock' three times, the truck starts and the alarm goes off. I don't normally lock my truck because security is not a problem at home and most other places where I park, so it took me a while to figure this out. I have gotten in the habit of pressing 'unlock' once before pressing the 'lock' button to prevent this. My EVO One came pre-configired when I bought it so I don't know if this is something that can be changed.

I did the Viper 2-way. It was a bit pricey but works well esp from a distance. The truck keeps running as long as I don't hit the brake before inserting the key and turning to the on position. Having two fobs isn't the greatest...kinda bulky.

So, are you saying the Viper 2-way system requires a separate Fob? Thanks!

Had my wife install the tech12 volts this past weekend while I worked on adding the amp and pop and lock among a few other mods. The instructions are a little challenging at first (video) and then realized we had not been sent a pdf with some images and diagrams. Install went pretty smooth, although the Tundra panels are not forgiving and can scratch up very easily when removed and dangling and allowed to rub on other panels. We had a factory alarm that needed a connection that was not in any of the videos. sometimes the alarm went off and sometimes it didn't. We are also having a start and lock issues where it takes more than 3X of lock to start. the truck locks and unlocks with one push of the oem key fob even though its not programmed that way via the vehicle settings. It never locks the truck while running. However, the company is sending out a new module to see if that fixes the issue.

Is it true that if you have an aftermarket remote starter installed than it will void your Toyota warranty? Thats what the service manager told me when I just bought my 2019 truck

Any follow up from the 12volt solutions folks on these newer trucks? I'm considering that option due to the plug-n-play nature.

Absolutely not. The dealer would need to prove that installing anything aftermarket caused any type of damage.

Your service manager seems to be a lot like the one at my dealership. I asked a technician about leveling my Tundra. He took me to the service manager and had me talk to him. He was visibly upset (in front of other customers) with the mere mention of modifying my truck. He stated over and over that he was a "factory guy" and that there's no need to mess with it. The most awkward moment I've experienced at a dealership.

I bought the Fortin EVO from 12volt Tech with the MyCar module. Installation on my 2019 Tundra TRD Sport was super easy, and I haven't had any issues. If you get the MyCar module, there is a sticker that says to install "this side facing up". If you don't then the GPS location may not work 100%. We had a "worse than normal" winter where I live and it was a nice feature to have.

I am looking for one that closes the moon roof if I leave it open and turn the alarm on.

I am lazy though and will have it installed local.

Just dont know which one to get at this point. They still have my damn truck!

Thats what I thought. They were upset with me as well because I wouldn’t play any of their games when buying the truck. They even tried to sell me accessories that came in the deal extra.

The MyCar Module has an Auxiliaries feature that can be configured. Aside from locking/unlocking the doors, there are options releasing the trunk latch etc. It may be possible to have them configured to open/close windows. Talk to your installer to see if they can configure those for you.

Hello everyone, hoping to get some help. I purchased the Fortin EVO One and LINKr mobile module this past Friday. I have seen others mention this problem but I am still unclear on how to fix it. When I use the app to remote start, my factory car alarm starts honking. What are the steps needed to fix this? Thanks in advance for any assistance provided!

You should check Fortin's site. There is a wealth of info on that site and you can also send questions to their support team if needed. They were a great help when I installed mine.

The problem didn't start until I installed the LINKr module, when I went to their site for support it says "Page not found" when I click on the contact button

I think I would be willing to live with the extra FOB if it means I get a dependable system with no issues. I will be looking into the Viper 2 way.

This one has a two mile range and free install right now...https://www.bestbuy.com/site/compustar-2-way-remote-start-system/6269219.p?skuId=6269219
I got one with a half mile range installed by my local Bestbuy and have had no problems. I talked to the installer first though. Turned out he had a tundra in there when I was talking to him so he seemed to know what was going on. Basically told me that at this point it is way easy to do the install with the harnesses they use (extra cost) and then they ask that you put in a $10 tilt switch so if your hood is open and you lean on your fob the thing wont start up with your hands in the motor.

No I was referring to the manufacturer of the LINKr module, Omega. The contact us page wasn't working yesterday. I originally thought the problem was with the LINKr module since the problem popped up after installing it. After many hours of reading multiple websites I have come to the conclusion that the D2 setting in my Fortin One is either not on and needs to be or is not functioning properly (This was not the case, please see response below).

My Toyota dealer installed the 12volt solutions in my 2019. Works just like advertised. No issues.

I finally heard back from the owner of Anderson Electronics. He pointed out that I had not connected the orange A6 wire to the BSM wire as mentioned in the installation sheet (It showed a dotted instead of solid line and I didn't see it) I got it hooked up this morning and the OEM alarm is no longer going off...But now the truck isn't locking itself back after unlocking then starting. I can do it manually so it isn't the biggest deal in the world but I am thinking about buying the programmer to try a fix I read about on the Fortin website. Since the issue was me not installing the items correctly I am amending my comments above and would now recommend using Anderson Electronics but if you need support quickly you should contact Fortin and not him. Otherwise he will get back to you it just takes longer than I have experienced when I purchased items from other vendors.

Yes mine was not doing that either once I installed my Fortin. You have to enable option 6.2 to get it to lock after start. You should be able to do that with your programming button on the antenna.

Thanks for that! He said I could send it back to have it reprogrammed but I am thinking about just buying the programmer since it is only $40 and I could reuse the Fortin on another vehicle down the road if I ever decide to get a newer Tundra

That is the same reason why I purchased the programmer and a basic EVO. If I decide to use it on another vehicle I can just reprogram it. Be careful as some of these pre-programmed modules have limited programming attempts or will not allow you reprogram at all.

Hello everyone! Me and my husband just recently purchased a 2019 Toyota Tundra. I'm not exactly sure of the specifics because I never drive it and also I'm not that educated on the different types. I do know that it looks like a work truck on the inside pretty much no carpet just ask vinal. Anyway, I was wanting to get him a keyless entry kit for Christmas and IF POSSIBLE one that also had the remote start. I know now that he doesn't have any of that and having to unlock it with a key and only on the driver door is a pain! Is there a full kit that I could get that would work? Idk why we are paying that much for that freaking truck and it literally does not come with ANY extras. I guess that's what I get for letting him go pick it out while I was at work lol bless his heart he was just excited to be getting a new truck. He definitely deserves it but one with keyless entry
