Damn that looks nice. I would NEVER want to get my Tundra dirty if I went through all that trouble! ;)

I just did this a few hours ago and saw the same video. The only way it’ll fit is if you push that little lip past the fender hole. Once you do, it’ll look weird, but it’s the only way to line up the lower filter box bolts.

The main problem with how it fits is that it feels like the opening is pushed up against the fender once it’s inside there and all buttoned up. I’m wondering if there’s enough of a gap to properly suck in enough air like it’s supposed to.

Not at all. Pretty much the same.
There’s a thread on here that someone tested it in a more rural area and it still works pretty well.

Easy install. 1 point I think is worth mentioning is the only way it'll fit is if u push the rubber ring into the fender wall. The rest was piece of cake. Even with trying a couple times both ways it still was an easy quick install.

    This way it won't fit.
    20190428_191826.jpg

Once u push that ring in too you're good to go.

It's a shame that last pretty red tube is covered by the engine cover, but oh well, still looks great.

Oh yeah, just in case anyone was interested. The dry afe pro aftermarket filter u see in pic will fit inside the trd cai. Not dyno tested on mine, but none the less dyno tested to be proven as 1, if not the best, air filter for what little gains u can get from them. I used that in place of the red trd filter.

I began my dechrome process with the badge overlays and added black side steps. Not a bad start in the first week of ownership.

Excellent posts and thanks for the pictures. That TRD CAI looks great. I also went with the aFe dry pro filter, but I kept the stock intake/filter housing. I did add the TRD air flow accelerator and installed it like you did, with the lip inside the hole.

Like I mentioned in my earlier post, I fear the accelerator's opening may be jammed up against the fender without a sufficient enough gap to let the proper amount of air to get sucked in. Only reason I say that is because upon install I could feel it hitting something as I pushed it in and was trying to line it all up. Did you notice the same?

Install is fairly easy. Just dip the letters in soapy water and do your best to get them straight. Not bad for $10 bucks.

Installed Leitner ACS. Decided to get Bak Flip Cargo Relocation Brackets and keep the factory side rails. Word of advice if you want to do the same, put the tie down cleat on the rack before mounting it. The D pillar gets in the way if you try to put it on after.

Do you have any pics of tire near UCA? Any rubbing issues? That’s the size I’m looking to go into. Still doing more research.

That's not ignorance, that's a common sense question! I didn't know what it was either until I got on this forum. It's a super duper cheap way to keep someone from walking up to my truck and opening and the stealing my tailgate. Without something on the right side joint it's a simple - open, lift, unclip twice, and off you go with the entire tailgate. So, 1 dollar and thieves have to work a bit harder for it. I've owned three trucks before this one. Never had my tailgate lifted, but at $50,000, I definitely dont want to ride dirty back there, LOL!

Took it to the dealer for 30k maintenance. While I was waiting I walked around the lot to kill time and they had a 18 on the lot with a dealer "upgrade package" that had different wheels, tires (285/65r18), and what looked to be a 2/1 lift (above coil spacer and leaf blocks). I can't believe what a big difference the small lift and tires made, looked so much bigger than I thought it would have with those specs. It was interesting to see they actually cut the front fender liners to prevent rubbing, I would have thought that size would be ok (don't know the wheel offset).

Installed the tech12volts remote start today. Pretty simple, used the instructions on Fortin's website. Even though its only 1 wire, i still cringed when i had to cut and splice it.
