I see some bad ass pictures of @Sunnier and @papasmurf blowing dust all over the place at the cinders. I’ll let them share them tho as I’m not sure if they plan on doing a photo dump or not

Driver makes a bigger difference than most people think haha I spent two different trips in Parker a couple months ago getting Bruce to work on his right foot depth

Thanks for not showing up at Cinders. You left a podium spot for me. :D:boink: I think Bruce got me by 1/2 second.

Beau's truck is BA but he never installed his front axles so he's 2wd. Traction was key. Bruce and I both used 4 hi and rear locker.

This year's camp was very trailer friendly; no off-road capability required. In fact, some of the smart people rented trailers from some place local and had 'em delivered to camp; that way all they had to bring was food, clothes, and recovery gear. I heard it was about $100 a night. The BAsTRD's did this (and consequently looked and smelled better than those of us in the SGU camp :angrygirl:).

It'd be great to see you, Chris, and Codi, and get Baby C together with Baby@Maureen McFly next year!!

I will eventually add any I get of my truck to the Banner/ Hulksmash build thread (you know... after we get to the built part of the story )... but I don't do FB or Instagram, so maybe check with Bruce to see if he prefers otherwise, but I'll be happy for anyone to post pics and vids of the Hulk.

Bruce rocked the course in both trucks!! Required foot depth was "floor board"- LOL!:mudding:

But we found out on Cinders (high speed) and verified on one obstacle on Smiley Rock (low speed, technical) that the "little truck" has significantly less power than later gens. Especially at altitude. At this point in my learning, this is probably a good thing, because if I'd had the option to go faster, I would have :burnrubber:, and that's probably not a good idea while I'm still learning the truck and off-road driving skills.

*I was peddle to the metal every straightaway, and hit and held 68mph on straightaways at Cinders and faster later on another run on hard dirt.

I heard through conversation which drivers had top rankings but never heard or saw time results for individual trucks. The time-keeper told me my first run was 1.24. I was the last or close to last to run the course and it was very torn up, especially in the turns. I don't know what the distance was, or whether this time was good or bad, but it was very fun!!

Not big enough for me to get above 75. On the course I don't think I got above 65.

I get the stitches out today hopefully plus I'll get an xray of the new hardware. The broken ribs are causing me more pain at this point though

Yeah traction is key, but also I was watching video of Bruce and the rear locker was hurting him in the turns. That why he was sliding out. I honestly would have done the run unlocked because bad turns bleed a lot of time.

This was me last year in the big whoops at the back of the park. Next year will be holding races there if anyone wants to put on their big boy briches LOL:

I totally agree about the turns being where I know I lost a lot of time but the locker helped a lot getting a good start.
    Hope you heal up quickly!

LOL, I took a wrong turn somewhere and accidentally ended up in the back with the big whoops. There were 3-4 footers! Holy fuck! MT's with 35's cannot race back there!!

I'm glad you're on the mend! Sucks about the ribs pain though.

Yeah, I heard a lot of conversation about whether or not to use lockers on Cinders. Problem was, long travel went last and the track was very torn up in the turns, no drifting around to keep up speed. Plus big-ass craters to avoid on the outside of that first turn. We all lost time on the turns, especially later runs.

I also heard suggestions to slot LT trucks first next year so the track will be less torn up for most drivers. :notsure:

    I love your videos!!

Just my observations as i didn’t run the course but traction and power were huge on the cinders course. There were only 2 turns and 3 straightaways. The bumps were small so almost everyone was wide open down the straights, I know you and Bruce were. The only place to gain time was the start and the corners so the straights gave the sc’d Trucks an advantage. If you spun off the line or blew a corner you were done.
Regardless it was really cool to watch everyone’s runs.

Oh yeah, @Sunnier took me for a run around the cinders course and the girl was driving! Drifting into turns skinny pedal floored! Hulksmash is a BA truck!
