2 1/2 inch internet special lift with 31 inch tires, lock rite rear lunchbox, Bilstein 5100 rear shocks, Detroit lockers front shocks/coilovers
Ok, I am a nubie to this forum and am super exited to be here ! Question ? I have a first gen Tundra(2000 SR5 Access cab 4.7 4X4 ) I bought a internet special 2-3 inch lift kit, front spacer, rear blocks. I also bought new coil over shock assembly's from Detroit locker and installed Bilstein 5100 shocks on the rear. Installed a Lock Rite lunchbox locker in the rear. Running 31 12.5 16 inch mud tires. I mostly use off road here in Utah. What I want to do is lift enough for 33-35 inch tires, but aftermarket for this truck seem limited without breaking the bank. Any suggestions? Also ideas on front lockers ? thanks

Welcome from SoCal. How much of a lift are you wanting? Asking because I have been taught (and now believe, because I've seen 'em break off-road) that spacer lifts are bad. If you can lift without a spacer,.

Welcome. Which lift kit? Don’t get something you’re going to regret to save a few bucks.

I originally planned to sell this rig, but fell in Love with it! I own an auto repair shop, customer brought in barly running and didn’t want to fix it, bought for $2000. Coils, plugs and full timing belt kit, and runs perfect! Then lift, tires and rims, stereo, magna flow exhaust, lock rite lunch box locker rear, and many other upgrades. Then my wife hit a deer and totaled last summer, bought back and fixed it. Not bad damage but the age of vehicle. So that is why the cheap lift. Here in Utah, we have some serious trails, and either need to upgrade suspension or get something more trail capable.

First and foremost....welcome to the club! Great work keeping that 1st gen on the road...more than once!

@Sunnier and @Tundra4Pinay had it right, the spacer lift isn't worth your safety/wallet/stress/quality of life. You live near some of the best offroading trails in the US, a small investment now in coilovers/UCAs will provide many years of smiles and fun

Do that 4x4 Gen 1 survivor some justice!

This will allow you to fit 285/70/17 or 295/70/17 tires.

My advice, get the front installed, measure and then lift the rear accordingly. You might be able to use the blocks you already have.

My experience with my 2000 is that if you lift more than 2", you are going to need UCAs. Otherwise the ball joints on the stock UCAs are going to clunk over every bump. Annoying as hell and not good on the joints. Also you will need a Diff drop or you will stress the heck out of your Axle joints. I agree with all those above that spacers suck, Get a proper coiler setup.

I'm rocking the 2 inch spacers no probs so far(gimme a break, im broke :D)

Just a cheap way to level your truck. Running 285/70r17 and they scrub when going over some hard bumps or when cornering hard into parking lots with slopes
But the plan is to upgrade to either coilovers or just simple 5100s.

    Yeah, spacers do suck tho

Thanks for all your help guys ! I took your advice and just ordered the Toytech Boss coilovers and UCA's with the diff drop kit. Also after searching found that icarid has some pretty sweet sliders for this truck.

    Welcome aboard!

Do you have a part number for that rear Lockrite? I know they make one for the front but I haven't found one for the 8.4 in my '05. I know Spartan doesn't make one for the 8.4 :(
