Will it be garage kept? I think it would be beneficial to sit overnight but may take longer to remove. Your call on that. You'll want some rough terry cloths if you don't already have them. Did you decide to skip the polish/sealant before waxing?

Gathered info this morning on these heated mirrors. Still not 100% sure, but I think the mirror plate itself is the only ‘factor’ distinushing between the non vs. heated option. That and a necessary switch assy in lieu of the blank next to Fogs. All the wiring seems to be already in place. Muuuhaaa.

Maintaining the mirror theme, I scoped the 5-6 tabs necessary to ‘pop off’ the chrome mirror caps to facilitate tomorrows spray paint operation using the rattle can match that was specially formulated for me a few months back as there is plenty left over from the side doink repair.

No garage here. We had frost last night so i may wait till tomorrow morning to do the M7, let it sit till the late afternoon then carry on.

I forgot about the sealant. I thought the M7 was the polish. What do you suggest for a polish/sealant?

I'd normally recommend you stick with Chemical guys since you bought their wax but I think something off the shelf would be fine. You could stick with the Meguiars theme. I'm not sure what's available up there for you.

Meguiars is the easiest to find but still limited. Local shop only has 2 or 3 Chemical Guys products. I'll see what they have for sealants. They do have a product by a company called Sans-Zo. Never heard of them before.

I put this little thing in to allow me to play my phone using bluetooth through the factory head unit. So far I am really happy with it. It plugs into the back of the head unit and I routed the cable into the glove box. Super easy it only took 10 min.

Sitting in the garage as a Hurricane Force Storm with 50-60 mph winds passed through. Dead big branch (pictured as landed) fell and broke on impact with the end piece barely missing the truck ending up underneath.

Any closer and I’d be in the 3rd Gen Section cwying about a wittle scwatch.

Went up in the hills to pick up some elk antlers, coming down on a section of bad road I heard a massive pop and found this.

Going to have to snag a cutting wheel from work to cut that damn nut and Allen key stud off because I cannot get that sucker to come off for the life of me.

Yep, same thing happened to mine not long ago. Not an expensive or difficult fix but who needs the hassle???

I remember that distinct ‘pop’ sound when mine busted about 7 years ago. Wonderd what the heck? Kept driving and didn’t think twice about it until a few days later when the handling felt sloppy.

I thought about saving the $30 for a new end link and just taking the sway bar off haha but I’m not sure how that would make the truck drive.

You're half way there right now. It would lean quite a bit on stock springs but nothing that would feel dangerous. $30 isn't too bad, there are heavy duty versions that look very stout but I think they run around $150 a pair.

I got used to teetering around corners and slow lane changes at speed. Speed bumps felt better, but overall I disliked it for the years it was busted. Not even sure of when the other link busted (years later?) and didn’t notice until last year when getting serious about restoration.

Just cut the other link and run it hanging like mine was. You might enjoy it on those bad roads. Street not so much.

A lot of times if you can get a pair of vise grips in there you can clamp down on the boot and get it loose.

Putting the M7 on right now. Hood is done. Pretty happy with it so I dont think I need to let it soak over night.

Went to the salvage yard today and got all the parts for my rear disc brake conversion and a j shift 4Runner transfer case for my manual case swap. Has anyone on here done a full manual transfer case conversion? If so what case did you use?

I’ve been contemplating a rear disc conversion so this is perfect. Be sure to keep us posted.

There might be some info on the T-case over on tundrasolutions. @Darkness should know.

Got the entire truck Nanoskinned and M7 applied/buffed except the roof then the weather started rolling in. The Woman took over the M7 job while I used the Nanoskin mitt. That really helped speed it up.

Hopefully it clears up tomorrow and we can do the wax.

Here's the difference the M7 made. Front panel has the M7 and the door panel is just Nanoskinned.

All your bass are belong to us

I read up on it. There's a thread in TS where a dude put sequoia stuff on. IIRC you have to upgrade the master cylinder since ours want designed for the pressure rear discs need. I could be wrong on that though. I'd be interested in both of those mods though. Definitely start a new thread if you take on that headache!
