    Hello all,

Does the Limited have Real leather or is it vinyl? Regardless of what it is my driver seat "leather" is peeling off. I have a small ass (160 lbs) and I don't sit on it at all (inside seat close to the center armrest).I noticed this on the first day and plan to bring to their attention on the first 5000 miles visit. It only happens on the driver seat as far as I can see.

Get some leather conditioner and protectant on it. It'll help in heat and direct sunlight

No don't do that until you show the dealer. They're gonna blame whatever you apply onto there.

Chances are they won't do anything about it anyways. Just like the green spots on interior plastics, doubt they'll take steps to fix it.

Has Toyota always had the synthetic blend? Our 4Runner leather was very durable...bad ass even.

Huh, weird then. Ours was a limited. Leather held up great for the beating my wife/kids put on it.

Could be. Try applying some good oil and cleaner. Leatherique is my favorite and works wonders. You can literally see the dirt it pulls

    Update -

Brought it in for 5000 service (3868 miles currently). The SA called the SM over and showed him the leather seat (The SM knows me very well since he was Lexus SM for 10 years or so) and the SM said "Order him a new seat base". NICE.

I had to remind the SA for do an oil change since he assumes oil change at 10k.

Um, your Limited is a FFV. Do you actually use E85?

The one year I tried raising a nice herd of nauga's, the market for Naugahyde dropped and I lost my whole investment!

5000 miles oil change only applies to FFV, however they use synthetic oil as well.

    No, I don't use E85. the max I use is E10.

Yes, they do use synthetic the thought is the ethanol breaks the oil down quicker thus the more frequent oil changes. Giving you the recommendation: 2500 if E85 is used >50% and 5000 if E85 is used <50% of fill-ups.

So why did you insist on the oil change? Just because you own a FFV?

...just because toyota sent me (the OWNER ) the oil change booklet which states that MY Tundra requires 5000 oil change. I don't give a ]@#$% about which gas I pump.

You sound like butt-hurt. so if I offended you in any shapes or forms I apologize .

I don't have FFV and my dealer changes my oil every 5k for 25k at no charge. I'm guessing its dealer preference? At the same dealer, my friend has the 1794 Tundra and has had the driver seat replaced X2 for the seat seam separating and then installed seat covers at the dealers cost.
