    @Casper421 @Darkness @Brown Bear @Rheywood456 @Swalters @because_v8 Calling all those that have lifted.

    Now that the front ICON's have arrived and the rear are arriving today I'm unsure what I should prioritize next. Obviously there is only so much money to fork out in a short time period.

    My plan was to run the OEM UCA's for a while and try to catch a black Friday deal. I was going to order the wheels and tires first and then deal with the UCA's later. I'm expecting to have to do something with the CV axles as well. They are fine now but I don't know how long those boots will hold up.

    Do you think I'll be unhappy driving around with the stock UCA's for another 7 months? Should I go ahead and get new UCA's and put the wheels and tires on hold?

    Should I just donate some plasma and open my wallet for all of it?

    I’m not sure if you’ll be able to get your alignment in spec with oem uca’s. I personally would get all the suspension parts first and hold off on the wheels/tires. That way your alignment would be in spec and you can keep an eye out for a deal on wheels and tires.

    Sell a kidney, you have two and they’re worth more. ;)

    3/2" lift, visor, 33s, eibach pro-truck, Cvj axles BFF Bumper 4.56 Tacoma Diffs
    from what I've heard, the OEM UCAs are good to keep alignment in spec up to about 2.5-3". I have a 2-2.5" spacer lift up front and the shop was able to get everything dialed in.

    I ran stock uca at 3.5" of lift for almost a year without alignment problems, but they were clacking hard on speed bumps. If you are staying in the +2" range you should be okay that way, but keep in mind you'll be paying for alignment twice.

    I think the ICON's should be around 2.5" of lift. I'm I'm running an inch lower than you I might not bottom out on the speed bumps. Maybe I'll do the install and see how close it looks.

    If its temporary you can adjust your driving habits to be mindful of bumps for a while. Then your only concern is tire clearance.

    I would get an alignment and go from there. If it's able to be aligned and your upper ball joints look good, keep stock uca and get tires at least. I ran a full 3" king lift with fucked up stock uppers on my 4runner for awhile before I got some camburg uppers haha

    I wouldn't mind some feedback on different UCA options. There isn't a ton of price difference between SPC($640), Total Chaos($765) and Camburg($664).

    Are your Icons the normal or et version? Et co’s recommend Uniball uppers to achieve the advertised travel.

    SPC is a good option but $640 seems high. The oem balljoint design requires almost no maintenance while Uniballs need to be lubricated and cleaned periodically.

    Ya I remember reading that the SPC's were closer to $500 but I can't seem to find any for that price. Thanks for the feedback. I'll keep looking.

    FWIW I've had mine on now for almost 2 years and the ball joints are still tight. I throw a couple pumps of grease into them every oil change and that's it. Alignment was still good at 1 year and I'll have it checked again this summer.

    Nice! I watched a video on installing these and the guy mentioned that these didn't originally have greasable ball joints. He said to make sure the ones you receive do. It's been a few years now so I'm thinking the chance of receiving old inventory has to be low. Did you have issues with the install? It looks easier than I realized.

    Nope, hardest part was figuring out what adapters I needed to press out the old ball joint.

    Even with that I think it took all of an hour for both sides.

    My total chaos arms required me to trim the coil bucket a little. But other than that I love them. I have camburgs on my 4runner and I love them, too. I've heard good things about SPC, I'd rather just spend the little extra on uniball. Cleaning and lubing them isn't that hard.
