I'm posting it here because I'm not sure if the newer Tundras use the same size switches. I'm looking for a USB port that I can snap into one of the spare switch holes below the AC controls. I don't want a dedicated charging port, just something I can connect to a USB cable on my Kenwood head unit. I don't think the '07s ever had a factory USB connection port, just a headphone jack. Aftermarket would be just fine.

I'm about to rip out my stock radio and I have an 07' too, so no USB for us, just the Aux. Lots of good Q&A's stating that purchasers of this got it to work fine in their Tundras below the HVAC controls.

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07425JMN9/ref=psdc_464394_t2_B00L2SF64E

I plan on taking the Aux port out (cut the wire or whatever) and then install this USB in it's place so I can use carplay/charge the phone.

While searching Amazon for any kind of port to replace a switch blank, if you type in Toyota there will be 2 types that will come up. Be sure to select the correct shape. They are very close in shape. One is obviously a rectangle and one is a little closer to a square. I know I had gotten the rectangle shape and it was the wrong shape for my 2015.

I've read that the ones on the drivers side kick panel, and the ones near the Tow/Haul buttons (on my 07 anyways) are different sized than the ones under the HVAC controls. So maybe a size difference was the issue?

That's possible. I have a platinum which unfortunately leaves zero empty switch blanks. I replaced my headunit which made my aux/usb pretty much useless. So I wanted to switch that one out with a usb that would be compatible with android auto, I got the wrong size, but in the end I placed a usb for android auto in the center console and in happier with that location anyway

I bought it after the install. I had the extra usb port from the head unit hanging out the slot. Once I got it I plugged it in, pushed the wire inside the dash, and it snapped in. Pretty easy. I did wrap some tape around the plug to make sure it didn't come apart inside the dash.

That's a great charging port, I have one in blue. The OP is looking for a usb for audio purposes though.

I ordered a couple different styles including the one Murph and Minter posted a link to. I ended up putting the new head unit in before they came so when I get a chance I'll install them. I did find a great place to run the rear view camera wire into the cab without drilling a hole.

Aftermarket rear view camera like the Master Tailgater? If so, I'd be interested in what you did as I have to run a reverse camera wire as well.

Please keep us updated on which of the two USB plugs work best in your truck. My 10.2" headunit won't be here until next month, so I want to get all my ducks in a row.

    Thanks!

I think both of the USB ports will snap into the dash just fine. I haven't really needed them so I've been lazy about installing them. The one Murph used has both a USB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. My '07 had just the AUX port (which isn't connected to anything now). Part of the reason why I haven't installed it yet is I either need no pull the head unit to connect it up or just not use it. I ran the USB cables so connecting them up is easy.

I ended up going with the Tailgaters rear view camera and it works fine for an aftermarket camera but the OEM one on my '13 Rav4 is better. What I did was pulled the passenger's side taillight and wired the power for the camera into the reverse light. When the reverse lights come on it also sends power to the camera. The camera has an in-line fuse so if something shorts out that fuse will blow, not the one for the reverse lights.

To make the camera come on when I shifted into reverse I had so send a "signal" to the head unit. I could have looked for power going to the reverse lights inside the cab but since I already tapped into it for the camera power at the taillight I just soldered a wire on the camera side of the fuse and ran that along with the video feed into the cab. Under the rear seats (I have a double cab) there's two rubber plugs. I have a couple pictures on my phone I can post. The plug is right in front of where the rear seats bolt down and not far from the plastic threshold piece under the door. About the only difficult part was I had to remove the rear seats to lift up the carpet. The carpet has white insulation under it so the wire is unlikely to get damaged.

The power wire for the camera isn't very long so if you want to run it into the cab you'll need to extend it. The video feed wire is more than long enough. The wire I used 18 gauge was 25' long and I had maybe a foot left over. I haven't had the time to play with things too much. I think if I could adjust the brightness and contrast for the camera I could make the image look better but I haven't found it.

Kenwood puts the "check surroundings" warning in about the worst possible place. Because the camera faces down at a pretty good angle you can see right behind the truck great but not so much at things a little distance off. The warning blocks you from seeing anything further away that 10 to 20 feet behind you. Simply tapping the display removes it. On the Rav4 it's at the very bottom of the screen. Even with it displayed on the Rav4 you can still see the license plate and trailer hitch. The 2nd gen Tundras are noticeably larger than the 1st gens and the bedsides are much higher. This makes backing up more difficult (which is why I wanted the RV camera) plus the previous owner tinted the windows. Overall it works well and I'm happy with the upgrade.

Did it fit? I'm looking to install these in a 2008 DC Base below the HVAC dials.

It fit perfectly. Snapped right in and no movement. Unfortunately the AUX portion did not interface into my new radio, but really it's fine, I use CarPlay 100% of the time. And if someone wants to switch to their music, I enable bluetooth on the radio and let them connect so I can still use maps.

This one does not work on my 2008 Tundra, below the HVAC controls. It is too long and narrow. I need something in the neighborhood of 33.6mm x 23.18mm.

I replaced the head unit with an ATOTO A6 Pro which had 2 USB connections. I purchased several USBs to fit in the holes below the AC controls but there were all too large. My Truck is a Tundra 2007 model and so many of the USBs on Amazon specifically state for 08 Tundra and beyond, leaving out the 2007 model. I did find the one to the link below did fit my 2007 like a glove.

Is the original Aux port connected to the head unit via the standard toyota harness connections to the aftermarket head unit harness and still works? Reason i ask is i have same aftermarket head unit but the oem toyota port does not work am thinking it is defective if yours works and i don't feel like bringing out the original radio to test it :). Appreciate any info thanks.

Both of these switches fit... I removed the original aux port which did not work with my aftermarket head unit and used 2 of the 2nd switch to have 2 audio usb ports going directly to my head unit simply plugged into the head unit's usb ports behind the panel. Overkill on charge ports but is clean, looks good and i can do away with the cigarette lighter usb power insert. I tapped into the cabin fusebox to the ACC with a fuse tap was an easy install
