Baofeng is garbage. I can't tell you how many times I've been on the trail with someone who can't talk with us because his Baofeng shitted on him

Doesn't the radio have to be unlocked to hit those freqs??

Alex, I trust that you know what you're talking about. I also have the Kenwood TH-K20A as an alternative to Baofeng, just haven't had any experience with it. I will read up more before Sunday and maybe get it programmed before heading out.

I have that kenwood. It works great.

The Baofengs have problems charging, problem with the keypads, problems with shocking people hands etc etc

Sounds good Alex, would be glad to have you out!

And I was going to wait to mention, but I've decided to bring food to cook as my inaugural trail run treat for those joining in. Let me know if you're coming by Saturday so I have enough grub. Anyone who wants to bring beverages of your choosing should do so!
    Balut for Alex!

Are your tires worn out?!! If not, aired down stock will likely be fine. I've gone a lot of places in my 3rd gen 2WD with stock Michelins. :boink: Just sayin' :D, don't miss a good time!

Can you make the May 4 trip to lovely San Bernadino? If weekends don't work, let us know what does. I can do Mondays, and it sounds like Monet can do some Fridays....
Thanks, Buddy! Good job minding (taking over!) the SoCal fort while we're away. Looks like y'all will have a blast!!

I have vacation time for a week starting May 31st. If there isn't any plans that come up for SoCal I may head to Vegas/Henderson area! Or I will start looking parts North! Know of any places by Solvang Gary? @saybng
