Add TRD Pro grill Add 5100 Bilstein shocks front and back at highest setting Add Toy Tech Shackles on the rear Add Grid GD-1 +15 offset rims Add Toyo Terra Grappler 305/60R18's Add Katzkin leather seats (Original seats were UGLY)! Add rubber bed mat (free from dealership) Add cargo bed lights Add tint (legal) to the windows
Just got a call that my new Tundra will be here mid November! I special ordered a 4x4 crew max, with the smaller engine. I wont be towing or hauling anything(maybe 2-3 times a year), so figured this might help on the gas mileage some? Plus its coming with the SR5 upgrade, but not the TSS package. So no fancy rims or tires, or step up rails. The money I saved by doing this will help pay for all my upgrades. First adding leather seats with the Rawlings logo in them. Then will be the toy tech leveling kit(coil over shocks) gonna lift it up about 2", new wheels, and tires (putting some 285/65/18's on it with some Fuel Vector D580's). The dealership is adding the cargo lights in the bed. Also I will swap out the grill for the TRD Pro, to make it all white(no chrome). Front replacement bumper from ICI, predator step rails, rubber floor mats (front and back), and finally will be a custom shift knob(that will be a surprise)! To say I'm excited is an understatement!!

Your truck, your money, but how dead set are you on getting the 4.6 over the 5.7? Trucks are a big purchase and I dont want to see you wishing you would have ordered the 5.7. I hardly ever tow anything either, but the 5.7 comes with a ton of other stuff that really makes it a good value.

Don't expect much better fuel economy with the smaller V8. I'd get the 5.7. Just a thought.

    -4.30 rear axle
    -Integrated Trailer Brake Controller
    -Supplemental engine oil cooler
    -Supplemental transmission cooler
    -Larger ring gear
    -Larger available fuel tank

You may not think you need the extra power now, but you may if you put on a lift and some bigger tires.

Im not trying to convince you either way, I just have heard from a lot of guys here wish they would have gotten the 5.7 and I've heard exactly 0 wish they would have gotten the 4.6. They are both GREAT engines though.

Congrats on the order. It's a very exciting time. Gives you some time to research the things you wanna do, and also time to purchase those little pieces to make it your own.

You'll be okay with those size tires and the smaller engine.

I have 275/70 AT's and I have plenty of power left over, MIGHT jump to 295/70's next time around. Time will tell

one thing to think about you never hear somebody say I wish I had less power or I wish I didn't have this much horse power its usually the other way around people always trying to get more power not less

I made that mistake with my 2013 Tundra CM I had a 2010 Cm 5.7 and traded for a new 2013 4.6 thinking of gas mileage. MISTAKE!!!! a lot less power and the exact if not worse mileage stick with the 5.7

He already placed the order gents.

A good friend of mine has the 4.6, he has zero complaints. He doesn't tow anything big and feels the 4.6 is more than enough power for his needs. Both the 4.6 or 5.7 are great engines in a great truck. You're going to love it.

For what I've seen in the market and I could be wrong, but the smaller engines tend to effect resale value as well.

not worried as I probably wont sell this one. If I do use it on a trade in, it wont get much by then anyways. I tend to keep my trucks for a long time!

Man all that extra weight from that bumper is going to kill you MPGs. I had a 4.7 V8 Dodge ram and i missed that when i went to my 4.0 4runner but when i jumped back into a truck i had to get the 5.7. This is coming from a Texan that lives in Seattle where you really dont need the power but man do i love horse power and knowing when i hit the gas its going to go and go quick. And if you plan on taking this truck off road which i assume you are with the lift and the big ass bumper aka deer stopper, your probably going to wish you had the extra horse power. but thats just my 2 cents.
